Less than 30 days now and still looking for transportation. Arrive at LAX around noon on 3/12. We depart on 3/17 at 1pm. Hotel is DLH.

I am not looking for the cheapest. I am looking for safe, timely and hopefully nice looking vehicle. I wouldn't mind a limo or better car for arrival day but probably won't need for departure.

Also is 9:30-9:45am early enough to leave DLH for airport on going home day?

I am leaning with supershuttle or Lansky's based on what I have read on the dis.

Thanks! Last piece of the planning seems to be the hardest for the east coast mom and first time DLR visitor.

We used Lansky's services in 2013 - he was on time, vehicle was clean, and was the least amount of stress I have felt for airport transportation. We flew in and out of SNA, but cannot imagine the service being any less from a different airport. We will be booking with him again for our 2017 trip, without hesitation.

We used Lanksy's 2 weeks ago and it was amazing. He was waiting for us at baggage claim with a cart and a sign, put all of our luggage in the SUV (It was a nice, clean Yukon), stopped at Target and waited while I grabbed groceries before loading them all int he car for me, and then helped us unload. He even had the carseat all installed and ready for my son (and wasn't offended when I double checked his installation.)
We also had to change our pick up an hour before pick up time do to a flight cancellation and he was so pleasant about it and very okay with moving our 5 pm pick up time to 5 am the next morning. He was there right at 5 am, helped us load, and got us to the airport. We had to navigate around an accident on the freeway and he was very safe about it.
We will use them again for sure. LAX traffic stresses me out and he made it easy as can be. They accidentally double charged us (I sent a quote and my husband called- honest mistake) and he immediately refunded us and we had out money back the next day.

Very worth the $200!

And your departure time will be fine. It's about an hour to the airport (a bit more with traffic) so that would have you arriving at 11- the requisite two hours prior.

If you want safe I would never go with Supershuttle, from my experience.

Karmel, yes, but not super.

(and others have had the opposite experience)

Lansky was fantastic a year ago December. I flew in just me with 5 kids in tow (my dh met us later). It was really nice to have someone so helpful with the luggage (met us at baggage claim with a cart, loaded, and unloaded at the hotel). It was also nice having the boosters provided and not having to bring our own.

My dh took Karmel later that evening when he flew in very late. It was fine too, but I don't know how they are with kids.

That all sounds great! We, myself and DD25, are going for our first visit in May and, of course, needing transportation to and from SNA, and this all sounds wonderful! But, am I reading this right, that to get you from the airport and to hotel, and then return to the airport later, cost you $200?? That's such a huge difference between a taxi or uber or the supershuttle, the other services suggested. I just read in another thread that the supershuttle was about $11 dollars, not sure if that is per person or trip, but either way that is much cheaper, though the service wouldn't be as great, I'm sure, lol! Even with the taxi at about $50 each way, that's still half.

I looked very carefully at costs of all methods of transportation before deciding on Lansky for our trip. For me, everything pointed to it. We were a party of 6, arriving later in the evening, and not having to wait for a shuttle or others was a luxury we COULD afford. We were in a private car, delivered safely directly to our hotel from the airport. At about $20 more than a shuttle, it was unbeatable!!
I believe the $11 rate Minniekins mentioned is a per person, per direction. Of course, for a party of two adults that is much more reasonable than a private car, IMHO.

I'm also looking at transportation options for my May trip.
The way I figure is this....when I'm traveling to WDW, leaving DME out of the equation, I could take a cab, Mears shuttle, or a private car service. The car service will be the most expensive option....but you're getting personalized service. A cab will be in the middle, with the Mears shuttle being the cheapest. If you have more than three people, a cab will end up being cheaper than Mears.

So, I can use SuperShuttle, at DL, for four of us at $68 each way. But..we have to get our bags, get them to the shuttle area, then possibly wait for others to arrive. Then very likely make several stops on the way to my hotel.
Vs using a car service that will meet us at baggage claim, help with our luggage, then drive directly to my hotel.
I'm leaning towards a car service. Yes, it's $60 or so more. But I would rather get to my hotel, unpack and hit a park. Arriving at lax at 2:30, would hope to have our bags and be off to the car by 3:15 and at our hotel by 4ish. Much better than getting there an hour or so later.

Me too!

We used Sunny's transportation and it was great. We went with a SUV because we had a 4 passengers with car seats and the vehicle was roomy, waiting for us when we got off the plane, and got us to the hotel quickly and safely. I'd use them again!

That was service from LAX, so the full hour away. SNA is likely cheaper, although I don't know how much. The grocery trip was amazing, too, something you wouldn't get with Super Shuttle. Plus we didn't share the car and had individual attention. We loooooved it!

Lansky's sounds awesome! Maybe some visit when we have a few more dollars to spend, that will be the way to go, definitely like the helping with your luggage, that would be great! I think this time we will go with Uber. Plus, we can get free trip each way(or the amt of the coupon, I think $15), off our trip each way by using referrals from another customer. That fits our budget better this year, and other DL dissers have had good luck with it. I also saw it recommended on the DLR prepschool site, (lansky's, as well), with a free coupon code thing to use. I'll probably look into it a bit more, but expect that's what we'll do, especially with only myself and DD25.

I have booked with Lansky's.

I was trying to find a way to add a beach day. I asked for recommendation for a beach option where we went from Lax to beach then DLH and price or for Monday round trip.

He quickly responded with 2 beach options for our arrival and an alternate for Monday. We chose to do our arrival. We only asked for an hour for beach selfies(dd21). Very reasonable price to add this and that way we don't lose a day during the week.

My dh didn't want his "girls" driving around lax and this way we get our beach time, an escort and still get to hotel in time for 3pm check in :goodvibes

We just used execar express by supershuttle. It was only a few $$ more than a shared van for the 4 of us. We got a text when we landed with instructions to call dispatch or the driver. We already had our bags so the driver came right away. He gave us his van number. The pick up was even easier. We got a text when the driver pulled in to the hotel. I would use them again.
