Transportation between theme parks

I know that MGM and Epcot are connected by water taxi and that MK and Epcot can be reached via the monorail system, but does anyone know how long it takes to hop between these parks? Also, do you have to take a bus to get to MK from MGM and to MK from AK. I am wondering if it will be worth our time to park hop or if we should just stay at one park. We are going in early Sept., right after labor day. Thanks for your help! Lilly
