Can someone explain to me how easy/hard it is to get from one park to another. Like if I am at AK and wanted to go to MK what type of Disney Transportation do I take (do I change from one bus to another or can I go directly to it) and the same for getting between the others. Trying to decide if we should just rely on Disney Transportation or rent a car. Also if we want to get from POFQ to another hotel for a meal is that hard? Thanks so much

Park to Park is easy. Just keep in mind that for MK, the park to park busses drop off/pick up at the TTC so you will need to take the monorail or boat to from MK and the TTC.

MK Epcot - monorail
MK AK - bus
MK MGM - bus
Epcot AK - bus
Epcot MGM - bus, boat, walk
AK MGM - bus

Now to get between resorts, there is no direct transportation. You would need to go to a park or DTD first and then hop the resort bus from there.

Park to Park is a piece of cake. Getting from resort to resort is a bit more challenging. Betterlatethannever has given you great info.

A couple of other things to consider - Depending on when you want to do these meals at different resorts, if you go straight from a park you eliminate some difficulty. Also, taking a cab once or twice during your trip is an option. It is not terribly expensive, and is extremely convenient.

Sometimes when we rent a car for the week, it sits in the parking lot for the entire trip. Other times it has been a Godsend. Over the years we have made a couple of doctor visits and it sure was comforting to have the car. It is nice to be able to buy water/juice/snacks, etc at non-Disney prices too.

So, have I confused you more? :rotfl:

Thanks for that link it is really a great tool!!

Still confused on to rent or not to rent because I like the idea of being able to go to a grocery store or something if I need too.. Are the parking lots ugle if we drove our car to a park??

We rarely take the car to a park unless we are going somewhere after that we really want it for. It makes it easier to park hop without a car, too. There is nothing worse than leaving a park at 10 pm and trying to remember which PARK you parked at that morning! Or getting to a park that is mobbed and having to retrieve your car before you can go to a different park. You can be much more flexible using Disney transportation.

In particular, we never take a car to MK, because you have to take the monorail or a boat into the park, usually after taking a tram out of the parking lot. The bus is actually quicker. :sunny:

I like driving to the parks. If you are an onsite guest then parking is free. The only place I would take Disney transportation to is MK. They get closer to the park. If you drive you take a tram, then a monorail or boat to MK.

Wow it takes 44 min to get from POFQ to GF on Disney Transportation???? But only 14 minutes by car

That's about right for worst case.

15 min waiting for bus
10 min ride to MK
10 min walkto/wait for monorail
10 monorail ride

Thanks.. So the 14 min by car is unrealistic too because you have to take into account walking to your car in the parking lot, parking at GF and then getting inside too right? With the other they pick you up in front of the hotel and drop you off in front too right?
