Is there a website that allows you to type in how to get from point A to Point B at Disney? I am wondering how to map out each day in order to appropriately book ADR's. For example, I have heard that BOMA is lovely, but am at a loss as to how long is the bus ride from Animal Kingdom to Boma? Or is it a monorail...? Things like that.

Thanks!!

I can't link it from my itouch, but the site you are looking for is Our Laughing Place and you want their transportation wizard.

This site can be a good starting point for determining what options may be available, but it does contain some outdated and some outright wrong information. As a result, you are best to confirm any specific routing plans at the Transportation board as suggested by a PP.

I'd never heard of the transportation wizard before now. I've never used it, so I can't vouch for it's accuracy. Here's the direct link:

FYI, there's a very good table of travel times in the Unofficial Guide. It's very accurate, and addresses the range of uncertainty. (Buses run at varying frequencies throughout the year, and sometimes a single bus may serve multiple destinations or resorts. The table presents both the min and max travel times for Disney Transportation, as well as min and max travel times for driving.) This table is only published in the books, not on the Unofficial Guide website. If you are not planning to buy the latest edition, you might find a copy in your local library.

So, for example, here's what the folks on the Transportation board could tell you about your specific questions.

The bus ride from Animal Kingdom to Boma at AKL-Jambo House is fairly quick as the two are close. For planning purposes, however, you should assume up to a 20 minute wait for a bus at the park, a 15 minute ride to Jambo House (including a stop at Kidani on the way in) and a 5-10 minute walk from the bus depot to the restaurant itself. All in, about 45-60 minutes.

As far as the monorail goes, there are three different lines. The MK resort monorail and the MK express monorail both go in a circle around the Seven Seas Lagoon in front of the MK. The resort monorail travels clockwise with stops (after leaving the MK) at the CR, TTC, Poly and GF before returning to the MK. The express runs counterclockwise and stops only at the MK and TTC. The third monorail line runs in a loop between the TTC and Epcot.

I was just going to post this. :thumbsup2 I find it a valuable source of info. I have the books and the web subscription. Never realized the transport info is not on the web, but it is a wonderful planning tool and the book is a good read too. :thumbsup2

If you are at a park, a safe rule of thumb is 45-50 minutes to wait for the bus and the bus ride to any resort. Some may be more, and some may be less, but thats usually a safe amount. If you are traveling from your hotel to another hotel, you would need to add a similar amount of time to get from your hotel to a park/DTD for the transfer. The transportation board can probably give you detailed times, but it always seems to take longer when you are in a rush. Disney themselves recommends building in 1 - 1 1/2 hours to get to a restaurant when you make reservations.

Unless they've made corrections, I have been hesitant to recommend that site for the last few years - too many errors.

I will move this over to the transportation board.

I want to see Yee Ha Bob and the dueling pianos at Jelly Rolls.

What is the best way to get back to AKL without a car past 11:00.

I had thought about going from Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios to get bus back to AKL. But in December, the theme park might already be closed.

Any ideas?

I read someone post recently that buses go from the Boardwalk to resorts at night. But I never heard that before. So if that is not true, the answer is take a cab would be easiest.

Next item. Yeehaw Bob is nor at Jellyrolls, he us at POR.

I know they are in to separate places.

It is really two transportation questions.

Normally, the busses do not go from resort to resort. It would be great if they do since Boardwalk is sort of an evening entertainment center.

BW isn't really an evening entertainment center. Yes, it has a few spots you can head to, but at the moment, there just aren't enough people heading there.
When you go to Jellyrolls, if you stay there late, past midnight or so, there should be buses out front that will take you to your resort. It won't be a direct ride but it will get you there. Or, you can take the DTD bus and transfer there.

For POR, you can take the boat to DTD and then transfer to an AKL bus.

If a park is open at the time you are ready to leave a particular resort, you can just take the bus to that park and then transfer to the AKL bus.

A cab is going to be the quickest way though.
