Transportation at VWL

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this question, but I need to know how is the transportation at VWL? I know you can take a boat to MK in order to avoid the bus, but when going to Epcot (we drive to HS and AK) does the bus go to Fort Wilderness and then to Epcot or is the bus only for WL and VWL guests. Thanks for any help with this matter. Also how about the bus to MK how does this run. It has been a few years since we have stayed here.

I've stayed at VWL a number of times and never had an issue with buses. The last time I stayed there, none of the buses stopped at FW, going directly to the designated park instead. I try not to depend on exact timing with the buses, so when I take them, it's with a little time to spare. If timing is crucial, then I opt to drive. And I do enjoy taking the boat to/from MK, regardless if it stops at FW first or not.

I don't remember if any buses stop at FW before going to parks, but at some of the parks FW and WL share buses back. We found MK bus transport to be great, Epcot and DHS were good, but Animal Kingdom... After picking up at WL, it also picks up at the Grand Floridian. And then stops at Blizzard Beach. And then goes to Animal Kingdom. I'm don't think I'm quite exaggerating to say it was like an hour bus ride packed in like sardines.

Thanks, we always drive to AK and HS so it is only MK and Epcot I worry about. As long as we don't pick up at FW I will be happy. Thanks again.

I think the busses do different routes depending upon the occupancy of the resorts, time of year, etc.

I have stayed at WL and the busses did go to FW. If you want to avoid this, you can take a boat to the Contemporary and then monorail to EPCOT (with a stop and change at the TTC)

Yeah, our bus stopped at the GF after it picked us up and this was also in December

The boats to MK and the other resorts were GREAT. The bus transportation to the other parks such as Epcot, AK and DHS - not so much. We had stayed at AKL several times before our first visit home to VWL and ALWAYS used the bus transportation with little to no problems. The bus transportation was so bad for our May 2008 trip at VWL that we decided we would ONLY use a car for our next trip in December 2008 to get around (other than MK). And that is exactly what we did - couldn't have been happier.
