how is the tranportation at vwl in early part of december to theme parks

last year it was pretty good - the boat ride to the MK was around 10 minutes - so the most I remember waiting was 25 minutes for the boat - the buses to Epcot was generally there or the wait was for 10 minutes (we might have been luck), the same with the Studios bus - the only problem we had was with the DD bus - long wait at the resort and at DD.

I agree with spiceycat. Over the Thanksgiving Holidays 2001 we had a good time with Buses and Boats. We usually take our car to DtD so I can't comment on this. One thing noted, the bus also stops at the Polynesian & GF. VWL/WL is first stop. Have fun and enjoy the magic at Holiday times.:)

It was not very good. In fact it was a big negative for a week that other wise was very pleasant. The longest wait was for DT, 45 mins. Good luck.

When we were there in Dec,transportation was great. My van started every time. The a/c worked well. Never had to wait.... OH, you mean WDW transportation. We never took a bus anywhere but to boat to MK was great.Little wait time, always had a seat.

Transportation for our last trip to the VWL was great except for nights that the MK was open late. The boats stopped running and everyone was forced to ride the bus. The lines were really long and the wait was too. I'm not sure though what the hours will be for this December though. It may be a non-issue.

My DW & I were at VWL in May. The transportation was great from WL to anywhere else. We went to DTD, but we always drive for that. Our experience with buses to/from DTD was never very good and for us, it's easier to drive it. Our average wait for a bus was less than 5 mins.

Getting back to WL was usually easy, except for AK. There we waited over 35 mins. for a bus. Not fun. At other parks the wait was not that bad, although we did have a 20 min. wait ONCE at EPCOT. Maybe it just seems longer because you are hot, tired and ready to crash in bed! :D

We stayed at VWL in early Dec 2001. This was our first stay at a DVC or Deluxe resort, having stayed at PO-FQ 3 times previously.

We really liked the boats to MK, Contemporary, and Ft. Wilderness. The wait wasn't very long, the ride was great, and we would often catch the monorail at the Contemporary to get to the other monorail resorts (or even Epcot, if we were in a monorail frame of mind!) One night when we missed the last boat from MK to WL, we took the mono to Contemporary and then the boat to WL.

The bus to MGM and AK stopped at WL first and then went to Poly and GF before heading to the parks. At the end of the day, WL guests are dropped off first. The bus to Epcot did not make any other stops (I guess since the Poly & GF have monorail access to Epcot). The WL's bus stop in front of Epcot is the closest one to the park entrance, and the stop at MGM is also very close. :)

Bus service to DTD was not as good. We had a rental car, and after our first DTD bus experience, we drove the car there every other time. We also used the car to have dinner at AKL, since resort-to-resort transport takes forever!
