Hi we are staying at pop century it is are first time in florida and was wanting to know how we can get to the malls from disney without a car is there buses or would we have to get taxis?
Emma

Yes, a taxi would be the easiest route, although pricey if you make a few journies to different malls.

Ok thanks for the replys there is 7 of us going so it would be 2 taxis so would de expensive i throught you could get buses but looks like would be difficult

Taxi firms have larger people carriers or minibuses (vans) so they can handle 7 people no problem :)

Guest Relations at the Pop should be able to order a suitable vehicle for you from Yellow Cabs (run by Mears).

Check out the Mears site for details and a fare estimator:

More than difficult: There are no busses from the resorts to the regular malls.

Let me back up a second -- why are you going to the malls? What do you need there?

If you're just looking for a fun place to shop, Disney has Downtown Disney, which is very convenient from all the resorts by bus.

Shopping is one the main reason (not including visiting the theme parks) that Brits go to Orlando :)
With the great $$/££ exchange rate and very cheap designer clothes, jeans and trainers (sneakers) it's a shopping paradise :)

Well there surely is stuff to buy at Downtown Disney, but it is rather overpriced, and the offerings rather skewed towards Disneywear.

Although Downtown Disney is great for Disney stuff, UK folks like to buy cheap designer clothes and footwear, as well as some electrical items and even medications like painkillers!. You would not believe the savings we get in Orlando compared to prices in the UK.
Some people who make regular trips pretty much do their yearly clothes shop in Orlando!

We are staying onsite at xmas and we are sorta thinking of hiring a car for the day for shopping otherwise we will use taxi's....shopping in Orlando is a must!

I agree with Tim and Emily, going to malls is a must when we visit America (any part of America not just WDW.) When we went last time we did not have a hire car so we used Mears. The service was great and not at all expensive so we thought. We visited several different malls and we were given a number to phone after we had finished at each so the driver could take us to the next one. I bought lots of clothes which would have needed a bank loan over here!! When we go on our next trip we are using a hire car and have a shopping day in our plans so we can stock up on clothes again. The price of branded clothes is so much cheaper in the USA compared to over here.

Danauk ... I just love the picture of your cats, especially the one in the sink. We too have a black & white cat, Sadie Tinkerbell, that looks like yours, and her favorite place to lay is in the bathroom sink. She sleeps in the sink at night!

If you really want to give the Buses a go then they are run by Lynx. You can get a bus from the TTC which will take you to sea world for a couple of $$ and from there it is a short walk to a different stop where you can get a bus to the Florida Mall. You can also get the I-Trolley from Sea World which will does a multitude of pick ups and drop offs along International Drive.

A word of caution though...DW and I tried the buses once and it took about 1.5 hours to get from The TTC to the Florida Mall :( and it was about the same to get back again.

I think the suggestions of using Mears ro hiring a car for the day are probably the best options :teeth:

we used a taxi last month from pop to the premium outlets, we paid $20 each way including tips
hth :)

it may be worth cosidering hiring a car for a few days if oyu are going to do a few trips.

Thanks for all your replys we have decided we will use taxis as do not want to be on buses for a long time and the taxis are not too expensive when we can get one taxi for the seven of us Thanks for your help
