Hi,

On our first day we plan to go over to Seaworld, I have read somewhere that using Mears is cheaper than a taxi. Can some one give me an idea of how much will be for two people to get over to seaworld and Universal Studios and back from AKL? Are there any down sides to using Mears rather than a taxi?

We travelled from Beach Club to Sea World last month using a Mears taxi and it cost us around $25(including tip). Did the same for Universal.We do it every time. See we don't hire a car,and its so easy,door to door,no waiting,well worth it.We though of hiring a car but we only needed it to travel to these two places,so it was a waste of money.
We uses City cars once and it was a lot more expensive.

If I remember correctly, it was around $18 round trip each

Have used bith cab and Mears shuttle. The Shuttle is about $18 each for a return trip and run about every hour; you need to ring mears a couple of hours before you ant to rertun to book a seat. Cabs will cost more but are loads around and donlt need to pre book or wait an hour.
