I keep reading bad things about Mears. My family will be in Orlando the end of April-First of May. We're going to Busch Gardens and frankly don't want to drive over and back. We've discovered that we like letting someone else do the driving after a long, hot day at the parks...and especially on routes which we've never taken. I've heard about SHUTTLE EXPRESS which takes you from Orlando to Tampa and back. I've also been told that is a Mears bus. Have any of you used it and what did you think? I'm slightly concerned now that I've been reading how some of you dislike Mears. Why is it that you do dislike Mears? Thanks!

The Mears bus to Busch Gardens is a different operation from the airport shuttles that you hear about in the forums. This is a full sized bus that goes between Seaworld and Busch Gardens. It also picks up at the Premium Outlet mall. It costs only $5 roundtrip, but reservations are required.

I think what most people dislike about mears is that it makes multiple stops between the airport and the resorts. Depending on where the resort falls in the list of things it may be a long ride. Also on the return you need to be ready for pick up 2-3 hours before your flight.

We took the Bush shuttle from SW last August. A true bargain for $5. pp rountrip.

You park in the SW lot and you do have to pay the $7. parking fee.

There were three buses available there and they all were packed.

You do need tomake reservations. You pay for your tickets at BG at end of the day before ou get on the return bus.

The bus was nice, comfortable, and had small overhead tvs.

Also, note that shuttle bus is free with the flex pass tickets.

Thanks for the info. What a relief, as I was getting worried it was going to be "The trip from h*ll"! Small tvs...my 3 year old will like that. And hubby and I will like NOT having to drive on a strange highway, with traffic, after a looong hot day at the park. When I read that it was ONLY $5 I thought the same thing.... this is one of the ONLY TRUE BARGAINS in Orlando! Thanks again!!:p
