Hi me and my bf would love to go to orlando as we have never been together however we are not old enough to drive. Does anyone have suggestions of areas to stay to get buses/ transport to get around? We prefer villas/ condos to hotels as I know I-drive has the LYnx transport and Disney with their own buses. We would love an area with a close by bus stop etc? Also wouldn't mind staying down at teh coast so same questions applys how do we get around?

If you want to stay in a villa/condo then a rental car is really the only viable option. So I would look the accomodation on I-Drive, the 192 in Kissimmee, Crossroads/Lake Buena Vista or on-site in WDW.

If staying in a hotel/suite on I-Drive you have the option of the Lynx buses (Route 50 goes from Seaworld to WDW TTC), and the I-Ride trolley bus to get around, plus the hotel's own shuttle services to the parks etc.

Hotels on the 192 will also have shuttle buses to the parks.

To and from the airport I would look at towncar transfers:
Check out FL TOURS

Just my opinion but if you can't drive and you want to visit attractions other than WDW, ie Universal/IOA/Sea World etc. then you would be better off staying off-site - would recommend I-Drive as a lot of the hotels there provide shuttle busses to many of the parks.

I'm not sure about the coast but maybe you could think about doing the coast on a future holiday when you are able to rent a car. Alternatively, maybe someone here can advise you about busses to the coastal areas. Some holiday companies and Orlando tourist companies do 2/3 day trips to the coast - that might be an option for you.

I agree with the replies so far, if you are thinking of staying in a villa you really need your own car, there is nowhere really within walking distance, including restaurants and supermarkets, and dare I say 'bus stops'.

You are much better staying in a hotel either on the 192 or on I-drive where shuttles and other means of transportation are available.

The nearest coast to Central Florida is at least an hour away, I am sure some hotels can arrange tours to various locations, including beach destinations also.
Often with overnight accomodation included.

Are there any condos etc on I Drive? If so these may be an option.

Without a car though I would personally be reluctant to stay away from "things" in a villa or condo - it could make for lots of taxis otherwise.

If it's just you and your partner, a hotel room would be okay wouldn't it?

There are some just off I drive such as:

...but most are hotel types I think, the advantage of staying in this area is that there are restaurants etc within walking distance, and Sea World & Universal are less than a mile or so away.

Thanks for your replies. We just prefer a home from home. Also I have a strict diet which means it is easier to cook for myself than eat out. We may wait till we are old enough to drive. I was under the impression it is 26 to rent a car? In a few years off!

You have to be 21 or older to rent a car in the US.

Well thats not as long I have to wait as I thought. Which company is 21? Or is it all of them?

There are a number of 'suite' type hotels along I-Drive that offer simple cooking facilities.

A few examples:

Embassy Suites
Enclave Suites
Wyndham Orlando Resort
Homeward Suites by Hilton
Comfaort Suites near Universal

Cooking facilities range from just a microwave to a full kitchenette.

Search on a site like Expedia for more details.

When it comes to eating out, there are so many places to chose from, many are buffet type restaurants so you will be able to chose what to eat to compliment your dietery requirements.
You will also find chefs in restaurants very accomodating in preparing special meals or modifying meals on the menu - especially in the WDW restaurants :)
