Has anyone ever taken a taxi or limo from a WDW Resort Hotel to the Ice sculpture exhibit at the Gaylord Palms? If so, would you mind telling me the cost? Would it be less expensive to rent a car for the day? Anyone have any tips to share? We'd love to see this exhibit when we are there during December but are not quite sure what mode of transportation would be best/least expensive to get there and back to WDW. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hey guys, hasn't anyone ever gone to see this exhibition? How did you get there? other than rental car, I mean? I need help! Thanks!!

A rental car may work out for you - they are usually pretty inexpensive in FL because of intense competition. A plus is that you can also stop at an off-property place to eat, and buy some Disney souvineers at the Character Premier over at the premimum outlet mall.

Sorry, I don't know how much a taxi would cost, but expect that it would be at least $10 each way.

I don't know the taxi cost either since I live here but the Gaylord Palms is just on the other side of I-4 from Disney, so it's not very far. But with traffic lights and heavier than usual traffic I'd guess closer to $15 each way. So for $30 you probably could rent a car for the day and use it for other functions besides ICE and come out ahead overall.

We saw ICE two years ago and it's awesome. Although if you're from someplace where you see ice all winter, it's probably not as impressive as for those of us who live around here!

I am pretty sure that you also have to pay to park at Gaylord Palms. We have a rental car for a day, and were thinking of going December 16th. The cost of a day rental car for us is just under $50, picking it up at the Car Care Center. However we're using it for church on Sunday as well.

We've never been to Ice, but are looking forward to going. I hope you get there as well!

PS. If you go to the post here titled "Alamo or Dollar" there are tips for better rates, I was just quoted under $30 by Enterprise for that same date, same tims. :goodvibes

Thanks for the replies! We are thinking of renting a car after all, just for the day. We were going to go with National since we could pick up the car at the Dolphin which seemed to be the most convenient. If you pick up your car from the Car Care Center, are other companies available? other than National, I mean. I am a novice when it comes to car rental. We usually use all Disney transportation except for the limo to and from the airport and now we use Magical Express, so we are dependent on Disney for all travel needs....til now. We are really looking forward to seeing this display!

Don't forget if you drive, Gaylord Palms does charge for self parking. I think it's $7, but it could be more.
