Hi all,

We have 156 days to go (8/8/13):cool1:
Has anyone heard anymore info about the transformers ride - is it still on schedule for this summer?
It's all starting to come together now - all tickets bought (14 ultimate disney, universal, seaworld, aquatica, Busch) bought the unlimited quick queue for Busch yesterday and have now booked Hollywood and vine fantasmic package and dine with shamu - just want to book wishes dessert party now!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

So excited

They're still very much on track. So much so that the construction walls around the Transformers gift shop and the new Meet Donkey area have come down, with suggestions that the gift shop could open as early as this coming monday. The ride itself is still set for July.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they might have a soft opening around May time, which I hope is true because that's when we go!

The gift shop opened today and the Autobot meet n greets have started taking place outside it.
If you use Despicable Me as an example, the ride began soft opening a month after it's gift shop began trading... :scratchin

Is the meet n greet with life sized Autobots??

Edit: realised that life size would be ridiculous lol I mean are they a decent size, as in taller than the average person?

I've been in Universal Hollywood and the ride is outstanding. The second best in the world (first one is Forbidden Journey).
Very excited to do it again next September.
At Hollywood they had also a meet and greet. They were a bit taller than the average person. Very well done.

They are in fact stilt walkers, but the stilts are not huge and built into the costume so they just look like legs.
Bumblebee and Optimus were swapping out every 20mins or so earlier today.
Optimus has a few pre-recorded phrases he speaks occasionally.

We were lucky enough to visit USH for a day in late April, and their version of the ride was soft open.
We were able to walk on it twice.
I hope the same can be said of our Orlando trip mid-april this year!

Just found an article with photos of Optimus and Bumblebee from today, they look amazing!!This ->:jumping1: will literally be me if they're there when we go in May :rotfl:

Is it true that it's on a par with spiderman for the type of ride - have a nervous 10 year old who loves transformers and can do spiderman ride but not roller coasters etc....

It's the exact same ride system as Spiderman, complete with simulated fall etc.

Here's a pic of the meet n greet from Universal Orlando's official Facebook page:

Oh wow! Ha ha! I cannot wait to meet Bumblebee :lovestruc

Looking forward to the ride too.... but more excited about Bumblebee :rotfl:

The fall is only partly simulated. The ride extends on two floors and there is one point when the car goes up on a lift and another when it goes down.
The ride is so immersive that it's very difficult to say when you effectively move vertically.

I think it's a little more intense than Spiderman, but really by a little, anyone who can ride Spiderman can ride Transformers.

We went on the ride at Universal Hollywood and thought it was amazing, I'm not a lover of Spiderman as it makes me feel a bit queasy but I didn't feel like this on Transformers although it is similar. Bumblebee and Optimus Prime were fab too.
