On August 5 at around 9:09 AM, Transformers: The Ride 3D experienced an emergency stop caused by a fault in one of the rides four elevator systems, which usually have the ability to restart seamlessly using the attractions built-in automated computer system.
However, in this specific incident, one of the elevators had been caught between the upper and lower floor of the building, prompting employees to alert the studios fire department which had been trained for an incident of this nature. Guests were escorted to the second floor of the attraction by the fire department as mechanics attempted to repair faulty elevator. All ten guests were reimbursed and given amenities for their troubles. Universal later extended the operating hours of Transformers as the attraction operated at half-capacity throughout the day. Guests waiting in line were also issued free snacks and water alongside other special complimentary perks.
This specific incident involving the elevator system is a first in the attractions history which includes its counterparts at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Singapore. No injuries were reported.
