HI!

Just looking for some advice on how to work our transportation..

We are arriving the day before our cruise and are probably staying at the Hyatt at the Airport because we will be getting in about 830pm and have a 5 year old and a 1 year old...

When we leave the cruise on Sunday, we are then staying at the Dolphin or Swan at Walt Disney World, and then back to the airpot..

Should we buy transfers through DIsney, and if so how much for my party?? Or, should we take a car service?? Trying to do it the most afforable, but convenient way..

THANKS in advance!

Sherry:rolleyes:

The least expensive route would probably be to rent a car from Avis. I think the DCL transfers are somewhere around $25, per person, each way and a car service would be more than that. Take the shuttle from the port to Avis, get the car and your on your way.

Go to www.mousesaver.com and get a discount code for Avis, and you will really be going cheaper than the Disney Transfer. Although............the ride to the port has a really nice video for all to watch that can make the anticipation all the greater. If you want, you could get Disney transfers to the ship and then rent a car back to Orlando.
Also, remember that if you do Avis, rent the car for only the time you need it.....get it in Orlando, drive to Port Canaveral and turn it in. Then get another car when we dock back in port to drive to Orlando. That's how it is cheapest.

We are flying in the day we depart. For us, a 3 hour rental is $45 to go to the port. When we get back, we are staying overnight in Orlando and flying out at noon the next day......that rental is only $60. If we were doing Disney Transfers, it would cost the 3 of us $150 and we wouldn't have the use of a car for sightseeing, grocery shopping, etc.

We had 7 people coming in on two different airlines into MCO on Friday afternoon and we used Happy Limo. They picked up one part of the party and then went and got the rest of us. They drove us to the Raddison at the Port and included a beer stop along the way to stock up for the week. On the return they were waiting for us at the terminal. While renting a car may be cheaper, this option was hassle free and nobody had to stand in line or pay attention to the road etc. They offer cars, vans and limos depending on what you are looking for. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

From what I'm told.....Avis desk at the nearby Radisson. They have a van that runs you to the port from there and then picks you up after the cruise.

yes, Avis is located at the Radisson at the port. Check out Dave's site for info on maps of the Port Carnavel area and reviews of different car rental agencies.

I don't have a reply but I have another question on transfers which I'd like to ask.

WE are arriving at MCO on the day of the cruise on Delta from NY at about 8:30 in the morning of course and since I understand Disney doesn't start getting cruisers together until around 9:30 does any one know where Disney reps meet the passengers in the terminal at that time. I really don't want to be walking around the terminal looking for a rep trailing four other persons with me.

Thanks

off to the blue seas on Oct 13th
