I noticed that alot of you are not getting the Insurance and transfers when you book. Is it cheaper to do it on your own?

I am not getting transfer since i will be in CA anyway for 2 weeks before and will have a rent a car. I may just get a shuttle from the hotel and it will definetly be lot cheaper.

For insurance, i have a decision til the final payment. I do have it for now but it is $125.00 per adult and $75.00 per child. That is money that you can save but on the other hand, we will be on the cruise for 2 WEEKS!! My DH is calling the Insurance comapny that Disney has and will read the clause, to see if it worth it or not.

Getting your own insurance is almost always cheaper than Disney's. We used Access America and had no problems. But then again we didn't have to use it. There are many companies out there, just read and know what the coverage is since they are not all the same.

As for transfers, they too are often cheaper if you have more than 2 people in your party. But some people like the ease and convenience of letting Disney do everything. We usually get a rental car since we arrive the day before. THat way we have some flexibilty. But you can have a limo service pick you up also and most will make a grocery stop if you need one. We usually get the limo service for post-cruise since our brains can't think enough to drive.

Check out Dave's site at dcltribute.com for info on rental cars.
