Transferring vs. renting DVC points??

Can someone explain to me why people would transfer? Do they do an even transfer?

I am just curious as to another option I may have with my DVC points.

Another way might be to transfer between friends who are staying together so one ressie can be made for all. We have a friend who only has 151 OKW points, while we have 380. When we want to travel together, we combine points, and get a larger unit.

sometimes a person only needs a few more points for their reservations.

so they ask for a transfer (rent) points from another member.

they have 118 points but it needs 120 points. so they need 2 points transfer to their account.

only members can transfer to other members.
