Transferring Points Question

DH and I are contemplating staying at BWV next August with the kids (yes, I know it will be hot) in a standard view 1 bedroom. We had originally planned for November and I was going to contact a friend with BWV points to do an 11 month reservation, but dates got changed.

Anyway, I have 30 points left from my June, 2005 use year and 150 coming for 2006. My reservation will take 171 points.

Here is my question:

If I transfer the 30 points from June, 2005 to one of my friend's accounts (he has multiple contracts with multiple use years), is he able to bank them? He has already banked all of his other June, 2005 points.

If not, I will transfer my 150 June 2006 points to him and just rent the additional 21 points from him. Not a big deal. However, then I would need to bank my 30 remaining points from 2005. They would have to be used by May, 2007 correct?

I don't think we would be going before then, so I might have to put them up for rent on the board hoping for a transfer to another member.

Although you cannot transfer banked (or borrowed) points, you can bank transferred points.

When is your friend's use year? If it overlaps yours, MS can put your 2005 points into his 2006 use year. Banking may not even be necessary.

For example, June 2005 points are good between 6/1/2005 and 5/31/2006. If your friend has a February use year, his 2006 use year "overlaps" your 2005 use year. Ms could just put the points in his 2006 use year and the points would then become good for 2/1/2006 - 1/31/2007.

He also has a June use year. I was able to conference in with Ruby who knew how to do it all, so I transferred my 2005 pts. to him and he authorized her to bank them immediately.

So I now have a reservation for BWV next August in a 1 bedroom standard view, and he has his pts. back!
