Transferring points: dashboard

So a friend of ours transferred his points into our account. But I can't see them. Do I have to call MS to use them? We have a current reservation for VWL in August. And would like to apply these points to the reservation. Do I have to rebook or does MS just apply the closest to expiration points? Thank you. It's our first transfer.

Unless your Use Year and Home Resort matches exactly, you will not be able to see transferred points online. You must call to use them. Transferred points seem to be handled manually, so I doubt you'll be able to reallocate them into an existing reservation, but only Member Services will know for sure.

If the reservation you made was done no more than 7 months out, then MS is usually pretty good about reallocating new points to a membership (whether they were newly purchased or transferred). But, if you used home resort advantage to book and the points that you got are not the same resort, then no, you can't swap them.

And, as mentioned, the only transferred points that will ever show up online will be those that have the same UY and home resort as you own. Anything else won't and can not be used without a call to MS.
