Transferring points between contracts??

We have two contracts one with a June use year and the other has an October use year. Recently, I needed to transfer points from the June contract into the October contract to complete a reservation. MS required that I send an email giving them permission to do the transfer. (I also could have faxed or sent snail mail). I hadn't heard of this before. Has anyone else??

When we have done the same, they never asked us to send anything; they just gave us a confirmation number over the phone. Perhaps it is a new policy.

The extremely helpful (and patient) guide at MS also said that since I made the point transfer from the June contract, I can only transfer from that account not into it. Is that right??

We just bought our second contract (resale at OKW) in January so we are new to transferring.

In the future, I would suggest you not even go with "a transfer".

Many of us have multiple contracts, with different use years. I have had no difficulty in making a ressie (within the allowed window), asking that they take X points from contract A and Y points from contract B.

Sometimes the MS CM has a problem with this, and needs to ask a supervisor how to make it work, but I have never had a problem working it this way.

Yes and no. This is the official word but if you need a few points to complete a reservation, they will allow you to do this. It will work out, don't worry. Besides it's per use year and you have a new one coming up soon.

MS had to call back with confirmation numbers later in the day. She said that she had to get someone else that was able to do the transfer. I was a little concerned about the limits to the transferring.
