Transferring points, 2 contracts, one owner

I have 200 BW points in a September use year and 25 BW points in a June use year, 2 separate member numbers because I bought the 25 June points from a friend.

I can't use the June points together with the September, so right now I book say a 20 point night with that and than bank the 5 leftover, and the next year borrow some and use the bank, present and borrowed and book 2 nights etc.
My question is, since they are two separate member #s, could I just transfer those June use year points over to my September use year and then use them, since they are the same resort?

I don't mind the juggling I have to do, it's just that it would be simpler to be able to book it all from one pool.

Yes, you should be able to do that. MS sometimes balks at transfers because they are done manually, so they may hesitate unless you are making a reservation, but they will do it for you. In this case, with the same Use Year and Home Resort, there should be no problem. It's too bad they didn't combine the accounts at purchase- it would have saved everyone a lot of hassle.

I have two contracts at the same resort, but different UYs. You can bank/borrow the smaller point contract, like you said, and book 2 nights, then book the rest with the other contract. MS will link the two ressies for you. If you need to transfer points from one contract to another, think about which contract you will most likely continue drawing points from throughout the point allocation year. If you use a contract to transfer out points, then it will remain a contract that you can only transfer out points for the rest of the UY. You won't be able to transfer points into that contract until the next UY. Same thing goes for the contract which receives transferred points during a particular point allocation year: it can receive more points from other contracts, but not transfer out any points until the next UY. This doesn't refer to banking or borrowing points. Banked or borrowed points cannot be transferred. If you ask MS more about transferring points, they'll be able to explain it to you.

I like being able to draw my points from one pool of points which is why I'm going to sell one of contracts and get more points with the same UY. I also have 2 contracts at the same resort and UY. You treat it as one big contract!

Doc must have missed that they're two different use year months. That's why the accounts can't be combined into a single contract and add-on contract.

But you should still be able to transfer from one to the other.

Yep- I misread that in the original post. So that's one reason they would not combine the contracts originally. You should still be able to transfer between the accounts though.

There are several options in this situation. One mentioned above is banking and borrowing. Another as in your actual question is transferring. A third is booking nights current years points and combining. But you might end up with stray points in which case MS will even transfer banked and borrowed points to round out that last night if need be. If you do a simple transfer, make sure you know which use year the points are going to. You'd likely be better off transferring the June points to Sept than the reverse unless you plan to reserve between June and Sept.

I can't do it this year because they're banked, but for future reference, I'll keep it in mind.

One thing to keep in mind is that the banking rules on transferred points are actually more lenient than on native points. So it MAY actually be advantageous to use the native points first. Definitely something you need to speak to MS about to make sure you understand all the ins and outs.
