Hi, I'm new here! We just got back from a 5 night on the Wonder and booked onboard for our next one in March, we have to go that week so dates weren't flexible. I wasn't thrilled with the TA we used so didn't put down to use them again. Those of you who transferred your OBB to a TA, how difficult was that process. Any recommendations on who to use that will make this go smooth? I appreciate any advice!

I've got a great ta. I can't seem to pm you as not enough posts I think but if you can send me a message I can give you details

We've never transferred a reservation, but it's apparently fairly easy (a form to be filled out). I'll just note you'll get less OBC (if the TA is offering it) with a transferred reservation, then if you'd just booked the cruise with the TA to start with.

We use Beth F. w/ Dreams Unlimited. I'm sure she can walk you through the process.

***Be patient this week. DCL just released dates for a portion of next year and all TAs are super busy.

Thank you! I don't think I have enough posts yet to initiate one either? I'm going to try and figure it out.

Thanks, I was seeing there are some who offered on board credits but also other perks occasionally too? It's overwhelming actually and I'm an obsessive planner so I can't just leave well enough alone sometimes.

We use Costco Travel (I think it's okay to say that here). While there are no onboard credits for DCL, they send us a Costco cash card for approx 8.75% of the cruise cost about 3 weeks after we get back. You generally have to do more leg work with them (my wife was on the phone for 2 hours this morning trying to get Summer 2017 booked), but the cash card is much better than any perks you'll get from a traditional TA.

This isn't necessarily true, not all agencies give an extra on board credit. Also, be mindful that not all cut the OBC if offered. Costco doesn't give an OBC, they do however give a nice cash card at end of cruise, and it's not lowered based on an on board booking.

Yes, not all TAs give any sort of perk. Typically, if they do, it's onboard credit. I've read of TAs reducing the OBC on transferred reservations here, since DCL reduces the commission to TAs on transferred reservations.

Costco's cash card - not OBC. So it's their call as to whether they want to take a bigger hit by not reducing the amount of the cash card.

Some TAs give other perks - bottle of wine, or photo packages come to mind.

Yep. As I said. Thanks for concurring with me.
