transferring luggage for split stay

If we decide to split our stay and move to the Swan for one night at the end of our trip can we get our luggage transferred from the WL to the Swan through WDW or do we have to move our luggage ourselves?

I believe you will have to move them yourself. Disney only provides luggage transfers between Disney resorts.

Just got back from the Poly last week and we also inquired about moving our luggage to the swan. The answer was we do not "officially" do this, but we "can" do it for you (aka we can do anything if the price is right a.k.a. a big tip. We decided to let dh and ds take a taxie. 2 dss and I took monorail to MK and then swan bus. Guess what dh was waiting for us in the lobby and ds was already in the room with the luggage. Cost of the taxi was about $10 plus $5 tip. Compare this to last year when we had disney transfer our luggage from the poly to the yacht club. 7 hours later and then still no luggage, despite the huge tip dh gave them. Good luck deciding.

I'm not sure about the Swan. We split our last trip between Poly and AKL and they did transfer our luggage for us. One big thing I did not really care for--we did not receive that luggage until almost 5:00 that evening. We left Poly and head to MK and then over to AKL. We had no problems checking in around 1:00 but we called several times before our luggage was brought up to the room around 5:00. We had planned on swimming and relaxing the afternoon away at the resort. Thank goodness I packed our bathing suits, etc. and carried them into the park (which was not the greatest) or we would have been stuck. In retrospect, I would take my own luggage either by car or rent a cab.
