Transferring issues?

My husband's family is planning a trip the first week in January (maybe starting 12/31). We would like to all stay together (12 of us), which means an OKW Grand Villa. None of us are DVC members. If we were able to find the points, would it be okay to have them transferred to my sister's DVC (OKW) account so that she could make the reservation for us? I'm not interested in doing anything even the least bit dishonest. Also, can we get the meal plan, and, if so, do we all have to be on it? Anything else to consider in doing this? I would love to work out the DVC stay, because my husband actually mentioned buying in now that we have children. I appreciate any info.

Yes, your sister may have points transferred into her account from another member and then may do whatever she chooses with those points. She would have full control over any reservation made using her points.

Yes, the Dining Plan is available for DVC reservations. Everyone staying in the villa must purchase the plan for the entire duration of the reservation.

If you are planning on 12/31 THIS year, you are likely too late. That is the MOST popular resort night, and a Sunday to boot, so fewer points needed. I'd be very surprised if there were any GVs left at this point. If you are talking about next year, this would be the time to start thinking about that so the ressie could be made in February at the 11 month booking window.

For that ressie, I would probably book the 31st on February 1st and then do day by day for the entire ressie. You will likely not really need to do that for the days further into January, but for New Year's week, it will be necessary.
