A year ago I took out a placeholder while on a cruise. I just used it during the launch of the new sailing about 10 days ago. Can I now transfer the new reservation to Costco?

No. About two years ago they brought in a rule where you had to transfer to a TA within 2 weeks I think it is of booking the placeholder in order to get the TA benefits.

Easiest way to remember is it has to be transferred within 30 days of when the reservation number is created, not when you choose the actual cruise you are going on.

I have now booked three cruises through Costco and will likely continue to do so. When we were on the Fantasy in May, we booked a placeholder and I indicated right on the form that I wanted Costco Travel to be my "TA of record" (or whatever you want to call it). It's a great way to save almost 30% on your cruise when all is said and done.

10% from the placeholder
Roughly 8% back in a Costco Cash card
2% toward annual spending for Executive members
3% cash back on the Costco Visa -OR- up to 8% off by paying with Gift Cards bought from BJ's while they are on sale.
Onboard stateroom credit from placeholder ($100 or $200 per stateroom depending on length of cruise)
