Today was the seven month window for our February trip. We had been booked at SSR, (our home resort), and we thought we would like to try something new. We got the entire seven days transferred to OKW without a problem! The biggest surprise was that we got a room near the Hospitality House without even asking. They offered before I had a chance to ask. We also saved 17 points!!
Please tell us what we have to look forward to.

Older resort with mature landscaping. Not much counter service food but a boat ride away to the Pleasure Island dock at DTD. OKW is a nice quiet resort and the only one to offer 2 beds in a Studio!

OKW is great, laid back resort. The only bad thing is that you will be disappointed when you have to go back to the smaller DVC rooms at the other resorts. If you have a car you are very close to your room. Bus service is typically good and the pool area is very nice.

Rum Runners at the Gurgling Suitcase.....yummy...oh and the resort is nice too:lmao:

Big rooms, mellow atmosphere, Olivia's, and as previously mentioned cocktails at the Gurgling Suitcase. :cloud9: The pool is super fun too and they have daily beach parties at 2 pm I believe. :thumbsup2

Nice resort and large like SSR. I found the quality of counter service better at OKW. No inside eating at OKW counter service. Picnic tables outside counter service or take back to villa. Very nice sitting area next to check-in. Very nice boat ride to DTD, takes about 30 mins Rooms much larger at OKW. My experience the CM's are friendlier at OKW. SSR is one of my home resorts.

February, a wonderful month to have coffee, cocktails or dinner on the balcony depending on your accomodations. Taking the boat to downtown Disney for dinner, ice cream and/or to go to the movies. The main pool is fun, the kids love the castle slide. Personally, can't make the trip without having Olivia's Turkey Sandwich and Olivia's breakfast potatoes, it's a very kid/family friendly restaurant.

I like a morning walk (should probably be running, but oh well) and OKW is perfect for that with the lush scenery, the bunnies etc. There a little play area for your daughter by the main pool. You can also rent boats there and navigate through the canals and see SSR, the Treehouses, etc., it's really very lovely. During cooler months we've rented bicycles, they have a fun family sized one with a bell that DS now 12 loved ringing when he was younger. Personally I don't play golf but there's a great golf course there as well.

We no longer do the commando park thing, we really enjoy the resorts and if you can't already tell, OKW is our favorite.

P.S. Should you want pizza delivery checkout Giordano's (website) , excellent and they deliver to OKW.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.
