Transfering points questions...

DH and I are thinking about buying into DVC, but I have a couple questions about the process of transfering in/out points from another member.

How easy is it to transfer in points from another member? I understand that they have to be a certain resort if I'm wanting to making reservations farther than 7 months, but is there any thing else that I need to consider when trying to do this? Is there a limit to how many times you can transfer in or out another members DVC points?

Never done it, but know it's limited to once a year. I think they are pretty strict about the rules, too.

Transfers retain their home resort and use year. So if you want to get a home resort advantage, but are short points, you would need to get a transfer from a member with the same home resort. You are limited to either one in or out a use year.

With the limitations, it can be difficult to get a transfer of a small amount of points because a member who needs to transfer might not want to use their once a year transfer on a small transfer.
