We are switching from AKL to BWV for our up coming stay.... We are also planning on renting some baby equipment while there.

Normally we would move the stuff ourselves since we have a van, but this time around there will be too much to fit in one trip.

How does the luggage transfer work? Can we also have them transfer such items like an exersauscer and baby swing?
How long does it take, on average?

Thanks bunches!

Hi,
AKL and BWV, sounds like a great trip!

I did luggage transfer via Disney service from Poly to ASSp and ASSp to BCV. It went smooth. they promise that your luggage will arrive by 3pm. both times mine was there a little earlier. No problem at all.
I don't know about the other rented items, but I don't see why not. I'd probably make sure they get a nice tip on each end.

Have a wonderful time.

We did it last year from AKL to Poly and worked out great. They moved everything, including big cooler we had. We had everything packed they came up to get our bags when we were ready, tagged everything and we made it to MK for Breakfast reservations at 9am! I went back solo to the Poly around 3pm, checked in and bags were prompltly brought up. Just let them know your plans the day before and you should be all set. We're going to do same again next trip. Good Luck! :)

Thanks for the replies!

I guess I will go ahead and rent a swing. We dont use it much, but when we need it.... we really need it and we want this trip to go as smooth as posible!

Laurabearz - I'd check with the company you plan on renting the baby equipment from about moving it from hotel to hotel. I've rented baby stuff before, and they are VERY specific about what you can and can not do with it. They might make you get two separate rentals instead of having you move the equipment. Baby equipment rental is a very lucarative, yet insurance heavy business. Since they own the equipment, and rent it out, they have to ensure the quality of the equipment to prevent accidents. By you moving the equiment yourself (I'm sure you'd be careful), they can't ensure the safety of the equipment anymore. I've never had WDW move my luggage, but it does seem like a very seemless process!! Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks for the heads up, Lori. I will make sure it is okay for us to move the stuff, but I am sure they will be fine with it. We have rented from this company every trip and they know us by name! But if we need to do 2 rentals so be it. We need the stuff at both places, doesnt matter to me how it gets there..... ya know??

As an FYI--The one time I had them move my luggage they lost it. This was from the GF to the BW. The GF claimed it had been delivered to the BW, then claimed it had been delivered "someplace" but didn't know where. After a BW manager called the GF they did locate it ins torage at the GF, and then the GF wanted US to drive over to claim it. Nice, as we didn't have a car, which was why we wre having them move it begin with.

The BW told them they didn't care how it got there, but the GF better get it there immediately. The BW ended up sending someone over in one of their vans to get it for us, because the GF's answer was basically we'll get it there later tonight, we're too busy with our own guests right now.

It didn't arrive until after 7:00 pm, and again, only because the BW went over to pick it up.

I'll never do that again, too much stress. Next time I'll spend the $15 on cab fare and move it myself.

We moved from BCV to CB and had no problem with the luggage being moved. The only downside is that we tipped them both when they picked up the stuff from BCV and then later in the day when we had them bring up the stuff at CB. And, we switched rooms while we were at BCV (had a handicapped room at first) so we tipped THAT bellman also! All in all, we probably could have bought a bunch of new clothes for what we spent on bell service tips!!! (We didn't mind though...we feel that when you get good service, you should compensate!)
