I am a new member and I am having points transfered to my DVC Account. MS told me to never give anyone my member number that points can be transfered into my account with just my name and address. The DVD member that I am getting the points from says that MS needs me to give them my member number to make the transfer. Could someone who has had points transfered into their account comment on this and tell me what you did?

I've seen it done both ways. If it were I and I only had one contract, give them the name as it is on the contract and the address and home phone. Get the same info from the other party. Then email MS the contact info of the other party and that you will be receiving X points in transfer. Make sure you specify the use year you wan them transferred to and that you are clear that the points will assume your home resort and likely your use year as well. And that's in spite of what the rules say and MS may tell you.

Also tell MS what you want to use them for and make sure you know exactly where they should go to do what you want.
 
I had points transfered into my account a month ago and the other DVC member said she contacted MS and she needed my name and DVC account #.

Usually, MS ask for my last 4 digits of my social security number when I call. Yesterday when I called, the CM didn't ask that. She just asked me to verify my address and my phone number. I thought was strange as that was the first time that had happened.

I had points transferred last monday, and once before about a mont ago. You do not need to give them your account number. They can di it by your name and address. That is how mine were done without any problem.
 

I transfeered out and was told that I needed the Member Number, city, state and members name. When I called to do the transfer, they wanted the physical address. Fortunatley, I ahd the buyer on my cell phone and was able to retrive it.

I transferred points to another member today. I had their Member # and they asked me to verify the members name when they pulled it up. I thought you had to have their membership #.
