Transfer/renting question

Ok I need *** points to stay in a ****and *** at ****... i own at *** o im wondering should i rent those points and then rent my own points or should i try to transfer ? which i really dont know how to do that ....any help would be greatly appreciated

In general -

If you want to stay at one of the smaller DVC resorts during a popular travel time or you want a limited room type or view, you need to have the 11 month window.

Examples of room types or views that need the 11 month window include concierge at AKV, Boardwalk view at BWV and MK view at BLT. There are others.

Popular times for DVC members include Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve and most holiday weeks. There are others.

There are usually some reports of members getting a hard to book villa at 7 months. It happens, but it is far from the norm.

To get the home resort booking advantage, a member can seek a transfer of points from a member who owns at the deisred resort or rent a reservation from a member who owns at the desired resort.

Some members offer to trade reservations. (You make one for me at your home resort and I make one for you at mine. Then one of us transfers the difference in points to the other becasue the reservations probably will not cost exactly the same number of points). Now that SSR (largest DVC resort) has opened the THV, it is more likely that SSR owners can find another resort owner interested in trading with them. The THV look to be quite popular and may need to be booked before the 7 month window opens.
