I'm just working on the tshirts now.

I purchased the transfer papers from Michaels.

I printed off the DISigns with no problem and then decided to do a 'practice' one on a shirt. The shirt is 100% cotton but more of a blouse than a tshirt. I put a pillowcase on the ironing board and pressed hard according to the diagram. At the end it looked good. Then I put it in the washing machine with a bit of detergent, by itself, on a quick was (30 mins). I removed it promptly. It still looked fine. I put it in the dryer, by itself, on low. When it came out there were little bits of white showing on the transfer picture (the shirt is green, so the white bits are the transfer itself). What did I do wrong?

I was thinking I should do one on the floor, with a sheet underneath or something, because I couldn't press with my whole body weight using the iron. We don't have a coffee table. I could also use my dining table if you think that is better. I am a bit worried about a sheet shifting, though.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You need to iron on a hard surface. Any type of table, counter or floor (tile) is better than the board. You also need to press your weight into the shirt, so standing on a chair may work better if the table is too high. You may want to purchase a heat resistant cutting board so you don't heat and ruin the surface beneath.

I never put my transfers in the dryer after washing. I hang. If the shirts dry with wrinkles, Febreeze works great to smooth out the wrinkles. Just spray, smooth and let dry. I would also not wash after ironing (just before), in case something happens.

I wrapped a towel and then a pillowcase around my large wooden cutting board and used the top of my clothes dryer....very stable surface !!

I wash the shirt and dry in dryer as my transfer instructions indicate. Then I do the transfers and hang them up. I wore all mine without washing again.
