With all my times to WDW, this is a first for me... transferring with 5 people!

We'll be staying at AKL for our first night (5 of us!), and transferring to the Swan the next day. I've not had good experiences with taxi service. Do limo services offer to do a hotel transfer (we're thinking of a van). Has anyone done this??? Any ideas on the rates for this?

I see that Tiffany will take you one way to Universal for $30.00... will they charge the same for a hotel transfer?

Thanks so much!

Does anyone know if Disney will transfer your bags to the Swan, since it's not an official WDW property?
Thanks.

Yes they will but why on earth would you want them to if you're getting a limo to take your party over? Just take your luggage with you. You'll have it much faster than if Bell Services transfers it.

You will have to call the individual limo services to find out what they would charge for what you want.

Thanks for taking time to reply Golden Oldie.

I asked about the luggage at the Swan just in case we couldn't get a decent rate with a limo service, and decided to transfer the luggage. I just couldn't remember if the Swan was considered a Disney hotel. Yes, if we go the van route with a service, we would definitely take our luggage with us.

Has anyone used a "limo/van service" for a transfer between hotels on Disney property? Any information would be helpful.
Thanks

Yes, Disney will transfer your luggage to the Swan. We've done this plenty of times. Have you considered taking a bus to the Swan (Boardwalk bus and walk to Swan, not sure if you can catch the Swan/Dolphin from AKL)and having your luggage transferred. We've never used a limo service to transfer and we too are a family of 5. Even though the Swan is not an official WDW resort, it is on Disney property and enjoys must of the perks WDW resorts do (i.e., use of Disney transportation etc.). Hope this helps. Have a happy trip!

Resort to resort bus connections usually involve a change at a park or DTD.

My wife & I usually check out of one hotel in the morning & then head out to a park for the rest of the day.

Late afternoon we return to our new hotel & check in. No waiting for our luggage, and no park days wasted!

I have had WDW transfer my luggage once, they loost it, and I'll never do it again. They had NO IDEA wher eit was or which of 11 resorts it might have been taken to--which was not very comforting.

It was finally found after MANY phone calls and the intervention of a resort general manager...it was in storage at the original resort--it had never been transferred...and the GF (original resort) actually had the nerve to ask us to come back over and get it! I'll always spend the $$ for a cab and move it myself--the $10 between AKL and the Swan is worth the peace of mind!

Thanks to all for the information! Staying at the Swan is a first for us, so I'm finding I'm having to plan a little more. We're still in the process of calling limo services for a rate to do the transfer. One place wanted $55.00, Wow! It doesn't look that far on the map!

We could probably just transfer the luggage and leave for the parks... now i'm calling for van rentals too (sigh... decisions, decisions)!

Thanks again. I can't wait!!!
