Transfer & Banking Question

Transferred points can be banked, correct?
Do all transferred points take on "my" use year regarding banking deadlines once they are transferred to me no matter what use year they come from? For example, if my use year is Feb and the points are transferred to me from a Sept use year...assuming they are 2006 points, would my banking deadline still be July 2006 for 100% banking (which has already passed) and I would only be able to bank 50% of them by October? Would I never be able to bank 100% of the points transferred to me by a September use year?
To bank 100% of any transferred points for a Feb use year, would they need to be transferred from only Feb-June use years so I could bank by July?

Transferred points are supposed to retain their original use year. Some will say that they have banked transferred points as though they were their own (and not subject to the percentages), but others have been told no.

You'll really have to ask the MS CM (or a supervisor) when you call to do the transaction to get an accurate answer for your situation.

I've found that you can't always go by what has been reported here because the answers (and actual happenings) haven't been consistent.

It appears to depend on the CM - apparently, not all CMs understand/enforce the rule in the same way. Sounds as though that may be changing though.

IMHO, if you want the transferred points for a specific reservation, it is best to make the reservation as soon as you possibly can after the transferred points are in your account. My best guess is that if you later cancel the reservation, the returned points will look to most CMs exactly like your own points. But you can't count on that 100%.
