I am planning a grand gathering at BLT for 2011 and am considering the option of transferring points into my account later this year rather than booking the additional rooms we would need as cash reservations. Am I correct that I could do this in 3 ways with respect to my use year?
1. Have 2010 points transferred in and then bank them (assuming they have not past their banking deadline)
2. Have 2011 points transferred in
3. Have 2012 points transferred in and then borrow them at the time of booking my reservation (this I wasn't sure about as I have not been able to find anything on if you are allowed to borrow transferred points)
Have people found in general it is easier to go through a points transfer or just book additional rooms as a cash reservation for the years their vacations require greater points. One thing I am thinking about is that if they continue the policy of only DVC members staying on points being able to access the TOTW lounge, then half of our party staying on points would be able to go, but those with the cash reservation rooms would not.
