Transfer AMEX to Starwood?

Has anyone ever transferred AMEX points to their Starwood Preferred? If so, how many AMEX points do you need to transfer in order to have a night paid for at the Swan or Dolphin?

I don't specifically know the answer to your question but I can tell you that last year I thought about transferring points to my Starwood account until I found out that it was not a 1 for 1 transfer.

When I looked into this I thought it was a 1 for 1 transfer - and I think S&D takes 10,000 points for one night.

I received my membership rewards book and it confirmed that the transfer rate is 333 Starwood points for every 1000 Amex points.
