For the second consecutive year, I hit the internet 8 hours before showtime and score killer seats. 5th row center!

Anyway, fantastic show as always. Our seats were incredibly close to the stage and while it was fun to really watch the performers up close, that show is soooo ENORMOUS that it was exhausting trying to take it all in up close. Probably could have been back a few rows! If you've seen them recently, you know that massive, moving lighting rig? Up that close, I felt like I was being abducted by aliens! :rotfl:

This year's show was better than last year, IMO. Absolutely stunning....if you ever get a chance, GO! The tickets are never all that expensive and well worth it for a 3 hour show with some of the most amazing effects at a concert (it snows!)

So now I'm finally in the spirit of the season!

Thanks for posting!!!

We are heading out in about 15 minutes to the show in Hartford Ct. My DD and I, and a bunch of girls (and their kids) from work!!!

Major score on your tickets!! That's great. I have no idea where we'll be sitting, but I can't wait!

DH and I went last year and we'll probably try and go again this year. We were seated kind of towards the back on the floor and I was REALLY glad we were. The lights were blinding and the heat from the pyrotechnics was a little uncomfortable. Of course, part of that was being packed in there with a ton of other people and my wearing a sweater on account of the cold weather.:lmao:

DH and I were able to get into our seats about 20 min or so before showtime. As we sat there talking, we noticed a guy who appeared to be homeless (shaggy hair, shaggy beard, dirty rumpled clothes, etc) with a large, clear tote in one hand digging through the trashcans looking for recyclables. We both remarked it was kind of odd that a homeless guy would be able to get into the building, what with the security and all. It wasn't a homeless guy..it was a member of the band.:rotfl:

I've told my TSO story before but I can't resist...A few years ago we were late for the show and hurrying to get to our nose bleed seats so there was very few people in the hall way. A small crowd was gathered in the middle of the hallway so we had to slow down to try to pass them. A security guard motioned me and my son( age 7 at the time) over to the crowd. I saw a guy handing out tee shirts and I thought "Cool! We're gonna get a free shirt!" So the guy gives my son a tee shirt and a program. He then asked my son what year he was born. My son answered 1997 and the guy reached in his pocket and handed him silver dollar from 1897!!!!!!!! We were stunned and thanked him. We turned to walk away and the guy called my son back and reached into his other pocket and handed my son something and said " Have your mom take you to Toys R Us." It was a $100 dollar bill!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guy was TSO founder Paul O'Neill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh that's so neat!!! He (Paul) played with them last night. I cannot place the song, but it involved a LOT of fire and a lot of guitar - my son was in paradise.

We had some Christmas magic at the show last year where a lady we did not even know bought my son a t-shirt. :cloud9: I won't forget her, it was totally out of the blue.

We saw TSO a couple of weeks ago in San Jose. It was awesome! We were sitting in the first row of the upper section and considered those to be really good seats. I think being too close would make it difficult to see the entire picture and all of the effects. We couldn't believe they played for 3 hours straight without a break! A guy my sister works with was playing the violin in the backup string section. He said it got really hot on stage with those flaming torches!
