I have a question I hope someone can help me with. We are going to WDW for the first time in just a little over 2 weeks. We are staying off site and I don't understand much about the Trams and Monorails are these just for guest that stay on site, I know the buses are but I am not sure about the other Disney transportion. I don't want to put my family on them if we are not allowed to use them?

Any information would be helpful

Thanks

Your ticket entitles you to use all Disney transportation.

Have fun!

alot of people consider the monorail an attraction as well. its fun to ride in especially if you can ride up front. when boarding the monorail at a station just ask if you can ride up front. i think they can hold four people too. the ferrys are a nice too. have fun.

You can use the busses, trams and TWO OF THREE monorails if you are staying offsite. The EXPRESS monorail and the EPCOT monorail can be used.

You can use the RESORT monorail only if you have ADRs for one of the restaurants at these resorts. The CMs really only check when there is a long line waiting to get on the express monorail.

There is also a boat ride from Epcot to MGM (and vice-versa) that is a nice relaxing ride. You get on at the International Gateway in the World Showcase area of Epcot. It takes you through the Boardwalk / Beach Club area, and is just a nice ride.

I did not think this was so - you could be headed to the resorts for shopping, going for drinks, spa at GF, restaurants without an ADR.

I have never seen anyone checked for getting on the resort monorail.

Actually, the signage above the "Resort" monorail at the MK also says TTC (Ticket & Transportation aka the parking lot). You'll actually (usually) wait longer for these monorails since there are fewer, and you make a stop at the Contemporary before you get to the TTC.
I have used this monorail on the busiest of times and have never once been questioned as to where my stop is.

edited to add a picture of the sign:

I can't remember ever being asked to show id for any of the transportation there at Disney.

Plain and simple...anyone with a park pass is entitled to all of the WDW transportation.

It's probably important to know as a first timer, as you drive into WDW and go to your parking lot the trams are for the people parking and take you to the park entrance except the Magic Kingdom where they take you to the TTC and you take a monorail or ferryto the park. All sorts of Disney Transport takes you all sorts of other places, but to get to the park for the day, thats it.
