Yes, I did bring it up. In reference to the op, not anyone else.

yep..and it appeared that you were implying they couldn't speak for themselves or choose what info to absorb..

I think not.

you think not..what..

that the threat was clear..

that legal action could be taken..or that you will choose your words more carefully

Yeah, because I'm going to fly all the way to Iowa and find you... how exactly? Big threat that. And what was the threat of bodily injury exactly? I said that if I had wanted to personally attack you, I would have. Just so you won't lay awake at night, waiting for a dragon to hunt you down, I meant that VERBALLY. Still feel threatened with bodily injury?

Well, since your location is BLANK, you could have been my next door neighbor who has a lot of knives, you know.

Oh, nice car, MICKEY88 . . . ;)

Uh, she didn't ask for permission to get one....
I've yet to see where anyone is giving or not giving permission. How would that work on a BB, anyway?

Gosh, disneydragon, I see you registered just over a month ago...did you know you haven't turned on your PMs? ;)

Thanks for passing along info, Deb. I'm sure, as a doctor, you feel compelled to inform people of safety/health concerns, as well you should, and I appreciate that; I seriously doubt that you go around dictating to people what they can or can't do in their lives (outside of your kids ;))...I've never seen you do it here. I can't even begin to imagine what could be wrong with passing along published advice from a respected medical organization, in order to make informed decisions. Well, except maybe on the DIS.

Okay I'm sorry but I gotta ask, are there SERIOUSLY ADULTS out there who really solve their problems with blood ??? The thought of that just amazes me, I mean come on........how old are you?? I'm sorry but that statement really really bothered me. Are we supposed to be impressed that you can beat us up if we don't agree with your opinon. You know I don't know if that statement made was either sincerely funny (that an ADULT would say that) or just really sad and pathetic :(

I can't believe there are adults who don't understand a play on words when they read one. Shall I clarify? I meant that if I had verbally attacked her, she would still be reeling from the verbal attack. Saying that she would still be bleeding is simply slang where I come from. I think you knew that all along, though.

I have yet to verbally attack anyone on this thread. Harass?Perhaps. Offend? Probably. Attack? No. There are far too many people who cry "attack" whenever someone says something to them that they don't like.

I guess SOME people would rather be ignorant than informed, gina.

it appeared to be a fairly clear threat to the rest of us.....clear enough that the person on the other end could take legal action if they so desired...

perhaps in the future you could choose your words more carefully..

You're kidding, right?

I'm just reading through this thread, and I really didn't see what disneydragon said as a threat. I mean seriously, like someone's going to get on a plane, in their car, whatever and go hurt someone. I think it's kind of funny that people would take it so seriously.

Wow and I thought I lived in the absolute worst place on earth. Regardless of whether you would actually hurt someone is beside the point, the idea that you would even type those words towards anyone is unreal.

Name calling is one thing (lord knows enough of that goes on) but I'm sorry even if its just "talk" when bodily hard comes into the picture its not funny or a putdown anymore, its ridiculous.

Uggh never mind...this is all ridiculous and childish and its to pretty outside to bother with a child.

Are you for real? What comes next..."I know you are, but what am I?" or "nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh!" Whether there are real "threats" or not, this is downright pathetic behavior.

Thanks for the information, everyone. I appreciate the concern for my kids and other kids. I am informed of the dangers and they will be supervised with this activity. If anyone has additional comments about the 8 foot trampolines in particular and if they have held up well, if they were easy to move and store and assemble, etc. feel free to pm me. Thanks again!!

You both never have anything informative to say and it all resorts back to silly name calling.

You obviously haven't read much of what I've posted. Most of the time, I'm "nice". If you don't like what I post, ignore me.

Okay this is it and I'm gone outside to play basketball with my child.

You attacked my friend and you bet I'm not ignoring that. Deb never EVER told Idaho not to get a trampoline. She was being helpful because SHE IS helpful. The decision is only up to the person buying it. I happen to agree that trampolines are a ton of fun but its also nice to know what "could" happen so you can teach your children what to do and not to do.

I'm sure being a DR. Deb has seen a lot of accidents that could have been avoided and unless we've been in her shoes I don't think its right to judge her.

Carry on and have a great weekend!

Just an innocent DIS'er asking a question here...I have heard that trampolines were dangerous but was wondering about those safety nets that go around the trampolines? Do kids still get hurt when those are used? Just wondering. Looks like they prevent falls, etc.

:duck: :duck: :duck: :duck: :duck:

(disclaimer....the poster does not use or currently own a trampoline...question was asked just out of curiosity's sake.... ;) ;) )

Yes, they still get hurt. Although many get hurt when they fall off the tramp, many get hurt just landing on the bed. Knowing HOW to land correctly doesn't always make a difference; just as Tiger Woods knows HOW to hit the ball in the hole, it doesn't always happen.;) Only having one child at a time helps reduce the risk, but doesn't eliminate it completely. The same goes for careful spotting, training, etc.

And as I mentioned on the other thread, the incidence of injury vs the number of people participating is much higher in tramps vs bikes, rollerblades, etc.
