Ive just read a couple of reviews where brides have been totally gutted about the whole Disney wedding photograher thing (this would ruin my wedding day to be honest! Living in UK, i wouldnt just be able to "pop along" for another shoot!)

Does anyone know if Disney are addressing this situtaion as a whole - not just on a "reactive" basis (ie, as and when a bride complains?)

I know I have more than enough time for the photographers to gain experince, but whats the turn over with staff in these positions? What experince in necessary to become a disney photographer? What qualifications should they hold?

Im very worried because I want my ceremony in Japan and then reception in living seas, but the change in outside photographers policy has got me thinking twice about it all now!

Im wondering if anyone (who is or has complained about their photos) has been told that this is being looked at on a wide scale?

Perhaps Disney should re-evaluate their new policy until the complaint calm down - otherwise they may lose business based on the photograhy issue alone? Imagine if you'd paid all that money for the ceremony in MK and got the photos that seem to be coming from disney photographers!!!!!!

I think I may write to them and asked what is being done? I'd rather spend my time now doing something than leaving it til a year befoer or even worse complain afterwards when nothign can be done!! Anyone have any idea on who I write to?

If anyone has a complaints address they woudl like to pm me - you name will be annoymous of course!

I think your post would make an excellent letter to Disney Photographic Services! :goodvibes

When we were wrangling with them over our MK photos, all we heard over and over was that they thought our photos were great and they had no idea why we didn't like them. (Click here to see for yourself.) Now I am hearing other brides are told the same thing.

What this says to me is that they are doing nothing to change the way they train their photographers or do business, because they don't think there's a problem.

While it may seem like a high proportion of us on this site have been dissatisfied with Disney's quality, we are a small percentage of people who use their services. And, frankly, they don't have to try to please anyone because, thanks to their new policies on outside photographers, people are forced to use them for any in-park photos.

I cannot believe that they respond with they think your photos are great. Who cares what they think, shouldnt YOU think they are great?????? What happened to customer satisfaction????

Hey Carrie,
How did you get your Mk pics on photobucket?

To be honest Carrie (hope you dont mind me calling you that?) it was your whole report which prompted me to finally think about the letter!

I will be honest with you all that im seriously asking myself "Do I spend all this money on a dream wedding and get nothing but upset afterwards when nothing can be done, or do I spend my money elsewhere but be happy with my results?" Its a question i've been putting to myself and will no doubt be asking for the next few years.

However, prevention is better than cure and I think that if i do something now, I may save myself and ALOT of other brides upset with their results.

I will have to look at alot of PJ's/TR's to get all my fact right befoer I write this letter but I think that it's a task worthwhile not only for me but hundreds of others

This is afterall meant to be "The Happiest Day of my Life" in "The Happiest Place on Earth"??? If nothing can be done then maybe i'll change my plans and NOT have a ceremony in epcot

If any of you past brides have a suggestion of who/where I should write to it would be very much appreciated (pm if you would prefer to stay annonoymous)

From what I have seen lately, I think they are improving. Carly's pictures were beautiful and a friend of mine just got married in September, she isn't on the boards and I don't know if I can post any pics of her but she had beautiful pictures too. Very artistic pictures and it looked very similar to Randy or Misty believe it or not. I was shocked. She had Ty and Amy for her wedding. I wouldn't worry because I think they are getting their stuff together. :thumbsup2 I will see if I can post any of her pictures to show you.

i had a very well liked photographer for my mk shoot and we are complaining right now, so i'm not sure if i can say they are improving, we got married in september as well

Really! Hmm..I guess its luck if you get them on a good day. :confused3 You would think they would improve since so many brides get outside vendors.

Perhaps this very well liked photographer is just rubbish at early morning shoots??

However, from the information i'm gathering from PJ/TR's it's not just their photographic skills which require addressing, it's their attitudes too!

Im hoping that Disney are looking into this already and my letter may just act a little kick to get them to look further into it. With the amount of people complaining i will be absolutely SHOCKED if there arent already.

Ive set my heart on a disney wedding and i'd hate to back out or take my second choice because of such a silly problem that could easily be resolved! These people do have skills as they show in many brides portraits, its just they seem to be hit and miss!

DisneybrideToni - it would be great to see the photos if she allows us too.

I would like to see some great disney shots to level out the bad one's i'm looking at

I do hope they take note as well becasue now they have changed the deal with outside photographers they need to get there own staff upto date with things.

We had misty for our wedding and we loved her, so much we are going to do another shoot with her next year when we return.

Carly, I think your pictures are great! I mean everyone has a few they are not happy with, but the ones inside the Castle are wonderful! I love them! You are so pretty!

That would be horrible if you felt like you couldn't do Disney because you were afraid that the quality will not be what you expect!! I know that pics are a very important part of a wedding though. I was happy with my DPS pics and would use them again in a heart beat... but I do seem to be in the minority here. Maybe I am just easily pleased or something! Sorry, I guess I'm not that much help, but I understand your frusterations and worries! :goodvibes

Oops, I forgot to mention that I did ask our photographer how long he has been doing it and he said that he has been a proffessional photographer for 20+ years and had been with Disney for like 10+ years. HTH!!

Oh and Carrie... I discovered the secret of screenshots as well!!! :rotfl:
