What are some of your training goals for the new year? How do you plan to accomplish them?

For myself, I want to stay @ at least 20 miles a week, every week. I plan on being more creative to get the miles in even when it's not easy.

I also went cold turkey on Diet Coke, and I've been clean for 3 weeks! I'm planning on sticking to that. More water will definitely help the training.

My biggest challange is going o be getting my eating habits out of holiday and vacation mode and back to healthy.

20 miles a week is my magic number also, I like to keep the miles at 20 as a minimum.

Oh, me too! It feels like I've gained 30 pounds in the last few weeks. :scared:

My goal is to continue "training". I've got to have that carrot dangling in front of me or I'm afraid I'll get super lazy again. To do this, I've got several events planned and thinking about others. My first, after Disney, will be a Valentine 5k. Next, part of a relay team for a full in Little Rock and then I'm thinking about the OKC half or Minnie Marathon weekend.

What I would really like to do is lose more weight and get faster in my W/R efforts.

My running goal is 15 - 20 miles per week.

Get back into weight training (after the marathon). We're having a fitness challenge at work starting on the 6th, so that will get me motivated.

Cut down on refined sugar, and cleanup the diet.

I would like to keep a 20 mile a week plan as well. It's just a matter when I can start working on that. The 24th will dictate that. Hard to believe that surgery is now this month. I just want to get out and about again.

I hope to be at ToT and get serious training for 2009 Goofy:rolleyes:

I, too, would like to maintain at 20 miles per week minimum. I am going to start a weight training program after the half and try to make my 40s my healthiest decade so far. I am changing my diet after my cancer scare and concentrating more on my greens and fiber content. Who knew that cancer liked sugar? :confused3 I am determined to set the best example for my children that I possibly can. :goodvibes

Cancer likes sugar? YIkes!

My goals are pretty much just like everyone else. I am planning to keep my miles at close to 30 miles a week though. I am going to add some speed work as well. I am also going back to my weigh training in February.

As for diet, I am about to set my kids on their heads with the dietary changes around here. I am going to get serious about limiting food dyes, sugars, and nitrates from our diets. We eat pretty healthy but we could still do better.

I am going to wean myself off my beloved 8oz can of coca cola per day. I will have to do it like I did cigarettes: one hour at a time. This is hard to even think about because that little can is a way to treat myself. Its the last remainder of my old self destructive lifestyle. Every day when I drink my little can I think about how far I have come and feel good.

Great goals!!! :goodvibes

Mine are...

1. Maintain a solid running base around 20 miles per week.
2. Add more cycling...spin classes when it's cold and at least 20 miles of road time when it's warm enough.
3. One yoga class per week!
4. Increase my short distance speed...aiming for a 24:00 5K. SO yes...that means speedwork. Ugh.
5. Take two pilates classes per week that I don't teach ;).
6. Train for another marathon and two half marys.
7. ***maybe*** train for a triathlon if I can get out there swimming...need to find a swim coach.

Cheers!!! Here's hoping that everyone has a successful 2008!!!! :thumbsup2

my goal is to not totally slack off post marathon and to also get back on my C2 rowing machine. last christmas I hit the one million meter mark but only managed to row 400,000 meters all last year. I would like to hit 2 million meters by this summer.

I also want to focus on shorter race distances and decrease my time. I would love to get my 5k time back around 27 minutes. I ahvent been able to break 30 min since my daughter was born 4 years ago!

Like everyone else, I'd like to maintain training post marathon, but will concentrate on 1/2 marathons and shorter distances, and add in some tri's as well.

I'd like to improve my diet, tone up my abs and get faster on my r/w intervals.
