We're considering taking the train to Disney on our next trip...anyone have any experience with this? How did you manage transportation to and from the station? Pros? Cons? Would love to hear any input....

Thanks, but we're not looking at the Auto Train...it would add a great number of hours and $$ to our trip. Mainly just wanted to hear people's experience with the regular train....

We use Amtrak almoost exclusevely......thru over 15 trips we get off in Kissimmee....next stop after Orlando....say 20 minutes ffurther...why, Almost the whole train unloads in Orlando which creates a mess of chaos and reboarding there to come home, worse yet.....we've seen the people stabding out in the Florida sun, long long line...waiting to board one by one with all their luggage and shopping bags and that's something we avoid by using the Kissimmee station.....very few people get off and on in Kissimmee....

Kissimmee station has no car rental agencies or transport services other than taxi's or pre-arranged car services....we have used taxi's years ago (about 40 dollars ne way) until we found car services that do the Kissimmee station...they run about 110-120.00 round trips and include a 30 minute grocery stop (we have them stop at Publix, liquor store next door) and we pick up all we need for our WDW stay and are on our way arriving at the resort in 30 minutes...well worth the little extra over the taxi's, alot cleaner, personalized service, they monitor the train arrival (since they hardly arrive on time) and are there to great you, help with the luggage and are very professional....

I can't say which company we've been using (banned from this forum) but there are alot of car services out there, some do Kissimmee and so not...google and find the companies, call and ask if they do the Kissimmee station, get a quote or if you must, do the Orlando station...all do this station....but we prefer Kissimmee.....good luck!

Thanks! I did some looking into tickets here, but for our particular trip the schedules are not going to work for us coming home (we either miss most of day in the parks, or get in too late the following morning for work/school).

Also great info on the Kissimmee station!! I think we will definitely consider the train for a future trip when we have a little more flexibility in our schedule.

I'll note the other Amtrak thread too.

Thanks again!
