Trails End to go...

I have read many posts here about the Trails End take out, bucket of chicken meal...I was wondering if this can be used with the DDP and how that would work, assuming it would be a TS, how many credits??

after I typed it, I realized how it appeared.

I have only eaten breakfast there and it was ok, its a pleasant atmosphere, if nothing else.

Don't mind Gatordad...He HATES WDW! We always get the Giddy up and go meal on our arrival day and enjoy in the comfort of our own "home". Saves me from having to cook on the first day. I don't know about the dining plan, but it's reasonable priced, at least it was last year and everyone including the kids enjoy it.

I have heard that if you use a little hot sauce on the chicken, that pieces of the skin are great for fishing bait.

I saw your title and thought, "What! They can't close TE!? What about my fried chicken?"

TE is a TS credit restaurant. I am not sure how they would charge you for the to-go items. But I do remember they will not let you use CS credits there.

Here is the take out menu for dinner at Trail's End:

You cannot use Dining Plan credits for any of this.

But, for the sake of us measly campers, please don't complain about this.

The Trail's End take-out meals are the best deal in all of WDW.

Some day, a Disney bean counter is going to take this away from us.

Mark my words.

Oh yeah! Like the old saying, buy a man a Giddyap and Go, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish with Giddyap and Go chicken skin and hot sauce, he will catch something really scary.

Thanks for the prices! That helps and the chicken meal is a good deal. We will have to try that on our next visit. We are campers to although I wouldn't refer to us as "measly".

Just thought I would add that we had the Giddyap and Go last night for dinner. Spend the day at FW and some of the other resorts and stopped by FW on the way home to get the dinner. It was awesome as always. The fort sure looked empty.

Ok, did anyone notice that it appears you CAN get the small salad on the DDP? I'm assuming it's under $4 and they consider it a "snack"??

Sadly no DDP for take out. You used to be able to use the TiW discount, but I thought I read not too long ago they were discontinuing that.

FWIW we really enjoy the chicken, and the pizza makes a filling, economical, if not terribly "authentic" meal - and it's even better the next morning warmed on the grill with a fried egg on top.

Seriously, I've had better food at the ballgame. For what they charge, they should pay you to cart away the food.
