Trail's End Restaurant ??

We are going to WDW for a few weeks in November and intend on eating at some of the restaurants we have never eaten at before. One of those restaurants is the Trail’s End at Fort Wilderness. I have looked at the menu and now I have to ask those who have gone there a question or two.
First, how do I go about getting there by car…parking etc.? The boat is not an option.
Second, Is it necessary (because of the DDP and Thanksgiving week) to have advanced reservations for breakfast or diner? We would like to go whenever things work out and not on a scheduled day or time.

To get to trails end ,drive to the parking lot at the entrance,short walk to the bus stop and take any bus that goes to the Settlement (orange settlement,yellow settlement or purple settlement),they all go to the same place but by different routes.It is only a short walk to the Trails End. When you go back board a bus that has Outpost on it to get to the parking lot.
You can get away without making reservations but you might have to wait a while, which is really pleasent in the rocking chairs on the porch.We love Trails End. Say Hi to Ken at breakfast, Donna at dinner and all the great people there.

How would you get to Trail's End if you're using Disney Transportation??

For Disney transportation, take the boat from MK or WL and it is a short walk to Trail's End. You can also go to DTD or any of the parks and take to bus to FW. I believe you then have to transfer to the internal bus at FW to go to the restaurant.
