We're arriving at the Fort on Thanksgiving Day (well, evening). I seriously doubt I can get Garden Grocer to deliver that day  so I figured we would just make an ADR for Trail's End Buffet.

From those of you who have eaten there on Thanksgiving, is it the regular buffet or a special meal? We're vegetarian so we're perfectly fine on skipping out on traditional T-Day fare.

Second, do you think it will be harder to get an ADR for that evening, same as usual, or easier because people are at other restaurants for a traditional thanksgiving meal?

Thanks for your answers, so far all my questions here have been met with informative replies and I'm just getting more and more excited!

Here's all the info from last year's Thanksgiving at Trail's End.
They basically add some traditional stuff to the regular menu.

Most all the restaurants fill up quickly for ADRs on Thanksgiving b/c almost everyone wnats to do a sit down meal. About half the restaurants do some sort of Thanksgiving add on to their regular stuff.

I would call at 90 days out from the 1st day of your trip and book it if you want it.

We actually ate at TE for Thanksgiving dinner last year. While TE gets a lot of knocks on this board, I'm really fine with it usually. However, I have to say that Thanksgiving dinner there was the poorest meal we've ever had at WDW. I can't remember specifics (I think it's been blocked out of my memory), except the dessert. Usually they have a nice variety of desserts, but that night they only had pumpkin pie for dessert - no ice cream and none of the other usuals. The pumpkin pie was scarily horrible.

So, I'm afraid I can't give a glowing review of T'giving dinner at TE. We did, however, go to TE for dinner later in that same trip and were very happy with that dinner - it was just the "holiday" dinner that was so bad.

BUT, you could get lucky still. I had several discussions with wegoshop.com (I think her name is Marge, but I'm not sure about that). They do grocery delivery like Garden Grocer. Anyway, they were going to be doing deliveries that day up until noon or so. Even though you don't get there until much later than that, you still could think about doing delivery as the front desk will put it in their refrigerated storage until you get there (don't buy ice cream, though - it's like a fridge, not a freezer).

Anyway, even if you eat at TE and even if you have the same quality meal that we had, at least you're at Disney! Have a great trip!

Thank you for sharing your experience. As we come from the west coast it will have been a long day for us, so any food will be good food, I guess :rotfl:

Thanks again!
