Trails End - no more hot lunches unless you like soup!

We'll stay tuned, Donna...you take it easy and enjoy your time there!

Interesting that they're getting lots of complaints about the lunch. I'm curious whether it's about the food they're offering, the price they're charging, or both?

Thanks for posting Donna! We'll be there in Dec & this is really helpful in my planning. BTW, why do they have a pic of pie on the bottom of the menu if they aren't serving pie or cobbler? It's the old bait and switch! ;)

true! thats why i want to get a picture of it, just what exactly is assorted desserts. i should have gone over yesterday on the way back from MK. it was quite busy for dinner yesterday, we got in ok, but there wasn't one single empty table at 7:00. we weren't hungry enough for the buffet so we just got the pizza. it needs something, justs not quite sure what.

I just checked into Disney's new "Quick Service Dining Plan." It's approx. $30/night ($29.99) & it includes 2 CS, 2 snacks, & a refillable mug. It may be helpful for those that like to prepay everything in advance, but I think we'll stick to the cheapies like Casey's Corner...I think I've finally earned enough Dis Visa Rewards for a hotdog, lol. :)

I think the pizza looks yummy. I am on a diet and the ONE thing I am craving is PIZZA!!

OK we ate at TE for lunch today and here are some pictures. It's $11.99 for the meal.

All in all it really wasn't that bad but I think $11.99 is high maybe $9.99 would be more like it. :thumbsup2

It does look good but I'd be worried about the meats and cheeses staying fresh underneath the lights; not to mention the sandwich bread. It doesn't take long for sandwich bread to dry out and you can see that even though the breads are somewhat covered, air is still getting to it. I don't know.....sandwich meats and cheeses left exposed for any length of time......seems they would dry out. I had one ressie for lunch here but changed it to another restaurant. I'd seen pictures of the lunch buffet and it looked so yummy. I'm disappointed it was changed before I could get there. :sad2: Maybe they'll change it back before I get there. :cutie: When I think of buffet, I think of hot meats and veggies, cold salads and fruits. I'm gonna keep my breakfast buffet ressies though. :)

Is this still considered table service or would the lunch be counter service under the 2008 Dining Plan?

I would think it would still be classified the same as it was before the change. They still take reservations and you need to check in and be seated before eating. A server still brings your drinks so I wouldn't think it would be considered counter service. I've never used the DDP so I don't know how it works. I never thought it was available for campsites and people who had annual passes.

We normally camp, but, as you know, Trails End and HDDR attracts more than just the campers.

We call the Fort home, but will be at ASSports in Sept for the Free Dining promotion...our first time witht he dining plan. We have our table service reservations locked down, but not the counter service.

Okay, no TE for this trip, but we are using 2 Table Service credits for the HDDR! Yea - we will be at the Fort in Sept ... but just to visit.

Next stay at the Fort is March 2009.

After reading some reviews of the change in the lunch menum I'm inclined to try it out this next trip. Looks like some good changes and old favorites still available.
