We had ADR's for the buffet at Trails End which were made months ago but when we showed up the had canged the buffet to a table service format. We booked the buffet because it was all you can eat and was to be our main meal for the day. Our mouths were watering thinking about the fried chicken and ribs and corn bread so when we found out it was table service and limited menu we were really bummed. Although the food was decent (I sent my fries back becasue they were limp and greasy and my brothers sweet potato fries and all the firmness of boiled noodles) but it was the same food we could have gotten anywhere on property. The new addition of chicken and waffles was unique but not our cup of tea. The burgers were good, but nothing special.
We loved the buffet but from what I understand they just never had enough diners there to make it profitable. If the number of people eating there when we were there was any indication of how the new format was going it will not last long either. It used to be a hidden treasure....maybe they just needed more word of mouth to get butts in the seat..
