If you've been to Trail's End for lunch, did you like it? I know that the buffet isn't as extensive as other buffets at WDW, but were there enough food selections to satisfy your family? Is it a generally crowded lunch spot?

We stayed at Fort Wilderness during Christmas week a couple years back and ate at Trail's End several times and my family enjoyed it. Because it's out of the way and not a 'destination' like HDDR, it caters mostly to FW guests and never seemed to get overly crowded.

Ate there once for lunch. There's a lot of sandwhich fixings and things like that. I thought the food was good but for a FW lunch I prefer ordering the Nachos from Crocket's Tavern:thumbsup2

We ate a late lunch at Trails End a few years back. The food was decent, nothing to rave about. Not very crowded, probably since it was about 2:00 p.m. It was a good option for our situation. It was on our arrival day and we had tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We were staying at WL and decided to check out Trails End for lunch before we headed over to the MK. By the time we got to the MK we were able to get into the park with our MVMCP tickets rather than use a day from our hopper tickets. And since we had a big lunch, we didn't have to take time out for dinner that evening at MVMCP.

I've had lunch at Trails End numerous times, because the food is good, the atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful, and the staff are terrific. Oh, and it's the cheapest buffet on WDW property.

Luch selections are definitely mroe limited than dinner selections, but he quality is always great and it's worth a trip to Ft Wilderness just for the boat ride from MK or Contemporary.
