I have a couple of questions about Trails End.....Are reseravtions recommended???....and how do you get there??? Any help would be GREAT!!!

ADRs for Trail's End can be made. Sometimes, an ADR isn't necessary, but other times it is. Are you going during a busy season? If so, I'd make an ADR. Now, where are you staying and I can help give you directions.

Getting there can be tricky. We always have a car so drive over and then take the internal bus. The parking lot is by the kennels. You can take the boat from MK or a bus from DTD or any of the other parks.

I recommend reservations as it can get quite busy. One time we didn't think we needed reservations since we were going to be there for an early breakfast - WRONG! We always try to get there at least once a trip. It's a great bargain.

We ate there once for breakfast when we camped at Ft. Wilderness. The food was fantastic. I needed to be rolled out the door, lol. The CM's were great and we didn't need a reservation...just walked up as a matter of fact. I would definitely go there again, but only if I was staying at a convenient location. As others mentioned, getting there is complicated if you aren't staying at the campground or one of the resorts like WL or contemporary with a boat launch to get there. I think driving there would be ridiculous since you would have to park and still take a bus to get there. You can't drive into pioneer hall. Although the food was great, it isn't worth all that hassle to get there.

The breakfast buffet is awesome and one of the best priced in the world. We include it somewhere in every trip. Easiest way to get there is head to the MK and take the boat, this will leave you a 5 min walk away. I've never made an ADR to eat there, but then again we always go in the off-season. But if you do have to wait for a table for a little bit, have fun on the grounds! Be sure to check out the Main Street horses.

We had dinner there during our trip last summer. We did make ADR and I was glad we did. We whould have never gotten in without them.

I did find the food pretty good, well fair, but the tables are sooooo crowded together and over all I dont think I would go back there. The line for the food was always long and folks had no problem just cutting right in any time they felt like it.

Just was not my thing...I am sure others love it.

We went on a whim in February 2004 and it was not busy at all (back then I don't think they took ADR's). We went for dinner and it was very nice! It suited 4 adults and their different tastes quite well...and the price was a true bargain! Getting there was tricky and we were all hungry! We drove our car to the visitor parking lot and then had to hop the internal bus...that was slllooowwww...it stopped frequently both on the way there and the way back. Even with the slow commute it was a good choice for us...

Hope this helps somewhat...

What would be the most convenient resort to get a launch from? I was thinking about getting there from the WL, but would we be going via the MK in that case?

You can get there a couple of ways.
1) CR take the motor launch to FW
2) WL take motor launch to FW
3) Drive to vistor parking at FW and take internal bus to settlemen post bus stop
4) If at MK take motor launch to FW or bus to Outpost bus stop FW then transfer to internal bus to settleman post bus stop.
5) TTC take FW bus to Outpost bus stop and transfer to internal bus to settleman post bus stop.

I'm so glad someone posted this. I haven't heard much about this place, other than breakfast.

We are meeting one of my husband's co-workers and his wife for dinner one night when we get to WDW...they are going down the week before us. They are staying at FW, and for some ungodly reason the two of them decided that Trails' End would be good. I'm thinking, hundreds of restaurants to choose from, and they pick the cheapest buffet on property! :rotfl:
