We are trying to decide between the above 2 places to eat. Is the fried chicken that much better at Chef Art's? I know everyone says Trails End is so cheap, however it would still cost our family of 5 around $175 to eat dinner there. We would probably just be getting entrees at Chef Art's and no dessert so it will probably cheaper there but just wondering which would be a better experience.

We have often eaten at Trail's End, but are going to try Homecoming on our trip next month. I'd like to hear reviews as well! :ssst:

Trails End is a solid buffet. One of the best at WDW. But the food at Homecoming is a cut above - everything (including the fried chicken) is fantastic. And the best deviled eggs I've ever had.

We've eaten at both and yes the fried chicken at Homecomin' is so much better than Trail's End. We actually didn't have a good experience at Trail's End and thought the food was pretty average. But we love Homecomin' we've been there twice and everything is always delicious.

We ate at trails end in May based on all the good reviews and we were unimpressed...although it was "cheap" I'd much rather try Homecomin' than trails end on our next trip.

While Trails End is a must do for us each trip, we did try Homecoming in August and in our opinion, it's the best fried chicken! It was cooked to perfection. I had the fried chicken and donuts and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich. We raved about both. And side note, the mac and cheese is incredible :)

We've eaten at both, enjoyed both, but no competition Homecomin' wins...easily.

We got the fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and hummingbird cake. Everything was great, we can't wait to go back to take the family.

Also, the fried chicken entree was huge, def a sharing portion. If I remember correctly, it came with a breast, thigh and drumstick. DH and I shared that and added a side. We had a good bit of our sides left. We just couldn't eat it all. Same thing with the cake...it was huge. I'd say one piece for a family of 4. Oh and the mixed drinks were great, best we'd had all trip. So much to enjoy there, you really can't go wrong!

The fried chicken at Homecomin is very good - i will mention that the chicken breast is boneless and while the crust was good the chicken was a little dry..the thigh was boneless but really good--you can request all thighs instead of the breast
The dining experience is very different at Homecomin' when compared to Trail's End --certainly more upscale with table service instead of the buffet
at Trail's End - the wait staff was also very attentive at Homecomin'.
While we have always enjoyed Trail's End (and it is a good value for a buffet), our last experience wasn't really pleasant - lots of people, dirty tables, loud, food spilled all around the serving platters on the buffet line...I hope we there on an "off night" and it isn't a sign of a downward spiral. If the dining experience isn't pleasing, we won't dine there just because it is a "good value"-
