DH and I will be down in Disney for spring break and we like to try new places to eat everytime we are down there. This time he suggested the buffet breakfast at trail's end. I am looking forward to trying trail's end since we will be staying at Fort Wilderness. I have looked at the menu but just wondering about the atmosphere and the food, and looking for any must try items for the breakfast there. Also the menu said coffee and tea included, does it also include juice?

Thanks :yay:

We love Trail's End for dinner and we plan to try breakfast on our next trip. From what I can tell, it's all the basic good breakfast stuff. Disney has the best breakfast sausage and of course, the Mickey waffles.

It's a nice compact area, just a big "L" shape. The tables are comfy and the atmosphere is very rustic. It's also the same area where you can get the "to go" items including the Giddyap & Go bucket of chicken. The refillable mug station is there too.

Our Ratings of Trails End: (rev 10/4/11)
. . . food price value: B

. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: B
. . . eatery convenience: D
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff attentiveness: C

NOTE: The above ratings are for breakfast and dinner,
which have good, tasty comfort food. We like them both
as dining alternatives, as they are reasonably priced,
especially for Disney. Lunch, however, is far-far behind
in quality and value. In Spring-2011, they changed lunch
menus and we no longer recommend midday Trail's End.
For dinner, try the "make-your-own-potato" bar.

We try to always to have at least one breakfast there....best on property without characters.....cheapest price (last I looked)...decent array of items, all good and the breakfast pizza, got to try a slice (pizza shell, bacon, scrambled eggs and sausage covered with cheese....) ought to sell that in the parks as hand food....juices and such and since we're usually at the WL, just a boat ride away..

Back a few years, this spot was little know, but as of recent years, it's popularity has grown to having an ADR....depend of the time of year but it could be crowded....we used to go there (down stairs was Crocketts Tavern) for pizza and pitchers of beer but the crowd has found this place and getting in has been tough...we've seen crowds outside waiting to be seated and they all had ADR's.....it has become popular but worth the wait.....evenings are quite pleasant there....lunch isn't what it used to be....we won't go there for lunch anymore..

This is one of those pleasant surprises that sometime find their way into your day.

After eating at places like Ohana, California Grill, etc, my fiance and I were a little weary about eating here. My parents made the ADR's and just had to have dinner here though.

That being said, it was a really nice change of pace. A little off the beaten path, in a nice quiet area in the woods, with food you wouldn't expect to enjoy as much as you do. Great comfort food served buffet style.

Needless to say, I engorged myself.

Nothing mind blowing, but a good meal, and worth revisiting.

We enjoyed TE. I would definately put it on the list if you are staying at FW.

We ated here some years ago when camping at the Fort. The food was good, the atmosphere was rustic and comfortable.

Thank You so much everyone! I am very excited to try it now! I just made ADR for the monday after easter! We figure a nice morning hike then a nice hearty southern breakfast :cool1:
