Trailer for National Treasure Book of Secrets

Sheesh...... I didn't even like the first one. But that's just me.

I wasn't sure if anyone really did. My dislike of the movie goes much futher than Nick(I wound't be acting unless my name was Coppola) Cage either.

Too true...............

Guess I'm the exception here. Me and my family enjoyed the first one. Thought it was a fun adventure, even if a little bit beyond belief. Looking forward to the second.

Harsh...

It was a nice conspiracy story that was well done considering the source, and the blond was nice eye candy.

Cage? well he knows how to play himself.

I will go see this one and as long as they connect the dots entertainingly it should be a decent show.

Busta

Looking forward too it. It looked interesting. I liked the 1st one, but I am a history buff.

Same here. I thought the first one was like a "DaVinci Code in America" movie. It was a fun action movie with a lot of historical background. Plus, it'll be an excuse to get away from the extended family over Christmas vacation.
:rolleyes1

Just a bit ago I was actually in the National Archives in Washington and stopped by the gift shop. The had a copy DVDs of National Treasure for sale and I made a remark to the sales clerk that it was a shame to see something so phony on sale among real and important history. She smiled and said she sometimes worried that there must be something wrong with a society that can turn the Declaration of Independence into nothing but a treasure map and Britney Spears into a role model for young girls.

You should see the wild parties they throw in the Congressional Records office!

I had no problem turning my brain off for 90 minutes and enjoying the movie. As someone who worked in a Congressional Office for two years, I am by no means (or at least I think not) a historical or political dummy.

For an action thriller, I thought it was better than "Da Vinci Code" and I guess I am an idiot for looking forward to the next one.

It really isn't the end of the world. Seriously.

It was Oscar material compared to the stinking pile of animal droppings that was the Duh-Vinci Code.

The book wasn't half bad - it had holes in the plot you could drive a mac truck through, but it wasn't awful.

Agreed..Tom Hanks was just the wrong choice for the role....couldn't understand the French women for most of the movie....plus they left out a couple of key plot points that I think really should have been in the movie. The Moive needed more Silas that part was well played. I have a hard time finding faults in anything that Ian McKellen does.

As far as the book...thought it was good quick read with some intresting theroies...(Jeuses and Mary is old news really though). One of the worst plot points I thought was the whole V shape in the painting. Seemed to be a weak point and it was really a key in the movie and the book. ( I would have skipped it).

Still I think both the book and the movie(Code) were far better and felt less like a slap to brain and my iintelligence than National Treasure. I won't even get into the acting or lack there of in that movie.

<sigh>

Just getting tired of "stupid" being an acceptable form of entertainment.

First, why, just because you think it is "stupid", does that mean it is "stupid"? Your opinion may be that it is, but that doesn't make it so.

Second, for sake of argument, let's agree it is "stupid". Does that not make it entertainment? Does everything HAVE to be "smart"? If all movies were "smart", then where is the balance or difference in entertainment?

Isn't it just possible they all can live in the same world?

It's interesting you quote Paul Greenglass. I love the two Bourne movies he did but couldn't stand United 93. Hated it. That doesn't mean it shouldn't have been made. It just wasn't for me.

I find some of Oliver Stone's movies "stupid". But I understand why they are made and that they should be out there. It's entertainment. They're not trying to change the world (well, Oliver Stone and Michael Moore might be). Just trying to have some fun.

If you don't like it, no big deal. But just because you think it's "stupid" doesn't mean it is.
